How to Participate in a Focus Group
Your opinions are valuable to us, we'll even pay you for them! Fieldwork Seattle is a marketing research firm that specializes in collecting opinions from consumers of all ages on a wide variety of products and service. We have done research on everything from food to insurance to video games. The research is sponsored by major manufacturers who are interested in receiving input from consumers regarding their products and services. When invited to one of our locations, you may find yourself in a discussion group with several other people like yourself, watching television commercials, looking at ideas for advertising or tasting a new product. We select respondents for participation based on basic demographic requirements for each individual study. At the time of the call, we will provide you with specific information regarding the focus group such as the date and time. If it seems convenient for you we will ask you some classification questions and invite you to attend the group if all the qualifications are met. If you are interested in participating in this important research you can register with us to receive phone calls and emails when a possible project comes up. In addition, be sure to check this page regularly for updates on the latest studies taking place. Groups are held at our Seattle facility located at 520 Pike Street, Suite 2610 in Seattle, WA. Take a few minutes and fill out as much information as possible. While all questions are optional, we have found that the more we know about you and your family, the more opportunities you will have to participate in a study. FAQs:
Q. What's a Focus Group? A Focus Group is a round-table discussion on products and services that you use. The discussions are moderated by market research professionals and usually last between 1-2 hours. When you're done, you are compensated for your time and opinions! Fieldwork hosts focus groups on every kind of topic, from video games to breakfast cereal to real estate. Q. Who Can Register for Focus Groups? Fieldwork needs people of all backgrounds and ages...even kids! (Panelists under the age of 18 must have a Parent or Guardian's permission to participate.) Registering is free and easy! Q.How Do I Register? You can register in our database at https://www.fieldwork.com/join Then you fill in information about yourself. Much of the information is optional, but the more details you give us about yourself, the more likely it is that you will qualify for a Focus Group. Is My Information Secure? YES! Fieldwork adheres to the Market Research Association (MRA) code of ethics on data collection. That means your information is kept completely confidential. We do not sell or give your information to any third party. For more information about MRA standards, please visit the MRA website at www.marketingresearch.org . Once I Have Registered, What Happens? Using a computer program, the Fieldwork office in your area will match your information to the research studies they need to fill. If your information seems to match, Fieldwork will call or e-mail you to ask if you are interested and available for the study. You will then be screened and asked a series of questions to see if you qualify for the study. If we determine you are qualified, we will invite you to come to our office and participate. Your voluntary participation in Market research with Fieldwork constitutes an Independent Contractor relationship, not an Employment relationship. What Are My Responsibilities as a Focus Group Participant? Fieldwork and its clients rely on the integrity of focus group respondents to conduct accurate and meaningful research. We ask that you:
• Be truthful in answering questions about yourself and your habits.
• Arrive for your appointment on time and ready to participate in the discussion.
• Notify fieldwork if you must cancel with as much advance notice as possible.
