The design team and director find inspiration through this work, and together form a cohesive ensemble.

Inspired by the artistry and humanitarian legacy of Anton Chekhov, The Seagull Project seeks to challenge and redefine the modern American theater through intensive training, long-form process, and international collaboration. The Seagull Project works to develop its own customs, including long rehearsal periods, in which each actor is afforded the opportunity to grow into his or her role, learn new skills, and deepen her or his work as theatre artists. After an extraordinarily successful run of Anton Chekhov's The Seagull at ACT Theatre in 2013, The Seagull Project followed it up with The Three Sisters in 2015, The Cherry Orchard in 2017, and finished the Chekhovian quartet with Uncle Vanya in 2019. The company continues to produce the work of Anton Chekhov and beyond through their Great Souls series, and future mainstage productions.
