I had great mentors when I was younger (dorky photo from 1992 included for your enjoyment), and I have always tried to pay that forward by mentoring others, especially those in the Jewish community.
As such, I am proud to announce that I have joined the Advisory Board of the Maccabi Media Program at Maccabi USA, which trains the next generation of Jewish sports media talent at events around the world.
Mentoring a student, sharing your network, or simply being a sounding board goes a long way. If you'd like to find a meaningful way to give back, let me know, or visit https://maccabiusa.com/maccabi-media/.

Yes, I can simulate a Hollywood film interview if that's what you need.
Dr. Jason Rubin, a highly-renowned physician, is preparing to appear in a starring role in documentary film. He had deep-seated anxiety about it and some very common misconceptions about what to do - like trying to memorize his answers ahead of time. To his credit, Dr. Rubin knew that investing in himself with professional coaching would pay off big time.
And it did. He transformed his on-camera skills in a way that will serve him well not just for this film, but anytime he's in the public eye.
I can't wait to see him on the big screen when the movie comes out, and I'm grateful for his kind words about me and his courage to share them.
"Steve was professional, friendly, and incredibly encouraging, and he showed me how to be more authentic, which immediately made me feel comfortable. Beyond great insider tips, he gave me real on-camera experience and a level of confidence that I believe will always stay with me."

Realtor.com is the largest real estate website in the country, so you can imagine how humbled I am to have provided an online workshop to their incredible marketing team at a national meeting in Austin, TX.
Their Head of Global Advertising Randy Saperstone brought me in to help improve the company's bottom line by maximizing time management when prepping a slide deck, projecting confidence when delivering the ensuing sales pitch, and infusing personality into it without losing the professionalism.
One thing we worked on: How to simplify a slide deck by directing your client's attention when there's a lot of content on a particular slide.
Literally telling them, "I want you to look at the yellow box," makes a huge difference, as opposed to reading off the statistics that YOU know are in the yellow box, but they don't.
If tips like these can help billion-dollar companies, they can help yours, too. Reach out if you'd like me to work with your team.

If you'd told me 30 years ago today, that:
❄️ It would snow on my graduation day at Syracuse University...
📺 I would become an ESPN Anchor by 29...
😎 I would pivot to at 50...
I'm not sure which one I'd believe ... probably none. But they all happened, and I'm so grateful for it.

"Steve's Media Training Workshop has paid off 10x over. When you see our heavy hitters on-camera, it's NIGHT AND DAY."
My thanks to Carrie Lee Gagnon, Executive Director of King County Search and Rescue, for her generous compliment.
The stakes are high when they're on-camera - P.R., fundraising, you name it. It was honor to help them tell their stories better when the pressure is on. Can't wait to work with them again this summer!
And yes, that is a photo of me interviewing a dog.

I'm proud to say I've gone international. So humbled that one of North America's largest roofing companies, IKO Roofing, brought me to Winnipeg to work with roofers on their "PERFECT PITCH."
🥶 Yes, it was zero degrees outside.
🏒 Yes, on top of being a $1.5-B organization, IKO is a top-class one, treating us all to a Winnipeg Jets game.
🛖 Yes, the roofers were awesome to work with. It's crazy to me how the communication skills I used for 25 years in TV translate so strongly to SALES strategies in every industry -- compressed storytelling, dynamic presentation, top-level body language, just to name a few...
It's all about the $$. How much more would your company make this year if your sales team can improve its messaging and ability to close?
Your business emails should not look like a text from a 17-year-old!
One of my C-suite clients was told this was the primary reason they would not ascend the corporate ladder any further.
If that's how you email, this video should help. Reach out privately if you'd like to work together to fix it.

The trip to Kansas City - one of my favorite cities in the country - was a blast.
It was another opportunity to work with the team at IKO Roofing- a billion-dollar roofing company that understands how even a slight improvement in sales skills can translate to millions of dollars annually.
They're also the type of company that "gets" it -- they don't just hold an all-day conference for 100 contractors, they rent out a minor league baseball field for some bonding after.
DM me if you'd like me to help your sales team improve their ability to close the deal. Don't DM me if you want help hitting a baseball over the fence.
