Throwback to an interview with FUTURE LYNN HANNAH KAY SWAN 💥 It’s true…the 3D, tactile nature of fashion means I’m still discovering new things that I just can’t stop. 😉

Here are 5 fun facts about me:

- I trained in fashion design at the Amsterdam Fashion Institute, a place that shaped many of my approaches towards craft, sustainability and technology.

- Prior to fashion, I majored in English Literature at the National University of Singapore. And costume design has nicely reconnected me with the world of storytelling.

- My designs are influenced by the places I’ve lived in — Amsterdam, Antwerp, New York, Seattle, Washington D.C., Singapore. For those who are new to the brand, a.oei studio began in Seattle and Singapore 10 years ago.

- I’m a tennis nerd. You’ll find me either in the studio or on a tennis court.

- I grew up listening to Cocteau Twins and Fiona Apple, and I’d roughly describe my musical preferences as lo-fi psychedelic girly rock.

In motion | Samurai Jumpsuit in the Living Light Print

Inspired by an article about biophotons, I set out to create a print that could reflect a sense of light emission. Drawing shape and color references from a type of jellyfish called Moon Jelly, the Living Light Print is a figurative sketch that gives off a festive glow.
