Seattle's Northwest Nikkei Museum maintains a collection of homemade audio recordings from the region's Japanese American community. Each record captures music and spoken words from the 1930s onward, including recordings made in WWII incarceration camps. Archivist and musician Mako Kikuchi is leading the effort to digitize and preserve these voices for future generations. This preservation project was funded in part by a grant from 4Culture, King County's cultural funding agency. Japanese Cultural & Community Center of WA ワ州日本文化会館
