In partnership with https://www.linkedin.com/showcase/betterbricks/ we are pleased to offer scholarships for the 2026 Oregon Building Operator Certification (BOC) Level II Training course to be delivered online by the Northwest Water & Energy Education Institute beginning on August 26, 2026. Preference will be given to individuals who are not served by a utility currently offering BOC scholarships, and to those who work in small to mid-sized commercial buildings located outside of the Portland metro area.

Studies show that BOC-credentialed facilities staff can significantly reduce annual utility costs. The course includes seven classes, work-site projects and open book tests.

BOC offers live technical webinars throughout the year that explore smart buildings systems and keep participants informed about the latest best practices, trends, and technologies that help save energy and run facilities at optimal efficiency.
In 2026, the BOC program is joining forces with the Smart Buildings Center's Smart Buildings Exchange (SBX) to offer the rebranded "SBC Plus Technical Webinar Series" providing a deeper base of expertise and topics to meet the evolving needs of building operators and other facilities professionals.

Anyone with an interest in the topic is welcome to join and get the in-class BOC experience.

For the BOC graduate, successful completion of the webinar and accompanying quiz provides 1.5 points towards maintaining your BOC Certification.
