Are you ready to get involved in the Central District Black Legacy Plan?

This exciting capital improvement plan will celebrate the history and legacy of the Central District’s pivotal Black activists, entrepreneurs, and philanthropists in local parks and open spaces.

We’re searching for consultants to lead a comprehensive planning process focused on community engagement, site analysis, and identifying potential capital investments to achieve the purpose of this project.

Future phases of the Black Legacy Plan may include full design development and implementation of the capital investments proposed during the planning phase.

The initial proposal includes William Grose Park, Powell Barnett Park, and Judge Charles M. Stokes Overlook, with the potential to add up to 2 more sites if funding allows. Applications close Friday, August 21, 2026.

For the full Request For Qualification, please visit https://procurement.opengov.com/portal/seattle/projects/189497

First-time applicants and members of the Central District’s Black community are strongly encouraged to apply.

Attention Artists...!

On Friday October 9, Miller Community Center will host its third annual Horrible Art Gala, and we need your help 🫵

We are calling on local artists to donate artwork for our silent auction. Your wonderfully weird creations will be bid on by the community, and every dollar raised supports Miller art programs for youth and adults, including guided visits to local galleries and museums with our art instructors.

Got a not so masterpiece? Send it our way and help inspire future artists!
