Appreciation: for a wonderful friend (here reflected in the wonderful neon looking glass), for the artichokes the neighbor recently planted that are architecturally splendid and bring me great joy, for the most magical fireball fur ball, for my man who is always painfully handsome, and for art and artists and graffiti that make the world right and alive.

Yoko. Born New Year’s Eve, 2025 (while I was mindlessly unaware of her existence, wearing purple lip, dancing under disco glitter). Cap sun, Gemini moon.
(Also finally got that shirt I’ve wanted ever since I saw Kelly O in it, ages ago 🌸🐶)

I’ve posted WIPs of this one before, but I’m doing it again because she will be available on Saturday at the Artist Trust 40th Anniversary Benefit Art Auction. 🥂
It’s my second year serving on the Auction Committee, and I’m really excited for this year’s event, not just because it will be a great party, but because this organization has done soooo much good work over the past four decades, funding a very long list of Seattle artists and projects. Please consider supporting them this weekend! Hope to see you there!

Print alert! Pick up the latest issue of because this one has a story I’ve been waiting to write for literal years: Ann Leda Shapiro, one of great artists of our time, who had been living and working right under our nose in the PNW for the past three decades. She is legend.
She is also the recipient of the 2025 Betty Bowen Award. Exhibition coming to next year!
You can also find the story online, 🔗 in bio.
