An updated Ralph Anderson home

Finding the balance between modernization and preservation is one of our great challenges and delights, and the stakes are high when working on a Ralph Anderson house. We worked with our amazing clients, consultants and construction team to bring some needed upgrades, additions, and functionality to the home while preserving the elegance that made Ralph's work so remarkable.

It is wonderful to find clients whose vision so closely aligns with what a project wants and needs. In this case, our client's sensitivity to the history and character of the existing home set the tone for the entire project and provided a compelling direction for the design and construction teams. The resulting collaboration will remain a highlight in the history of our office.

A Laurelhurst contemporary remodel

This home, located in the exclusive Laurelhurst neighborhood of Seattle, is nestled into the mature, native landscape that surrounds it. Our client's mandate was to design a house that worked with its mid-century roots and took advantage of its remarkable surroundings but brought the function of the space and its aesthetic into the 21st century.
