Most Cedar Grove bulk yards will close early at 12pm on Friday, Sept. 4th with normal hours resuming Tuesday.

Everett Yard & Scale and the Maple Valley Scale will keep their regular schedules. Plan ahead for your visit and have a safe and relaxing Labor Day weekend!

Reminder: Our Maple Valley Sales Yard will be closed this Saturday, August 29th. Regular hours will resume Monday, we appreciate your understanding.

A few new things are growing around our yards 🌱 We partnered with Sound Sustainable Farms to set up garden beds at each of our locations with a mix of starts like squash, strawberries, peppers and tomatoes

Which of our soil products do our employees use at home? We’re so glad you asked! This yard project started on a whim and grows fuller and better each season. Three years later it’s now a certified wildlife habitat through the National Wildlife Federation

Here’s what works so well for them: “I first used lawn soil to build up my beds and help with drainage. Then I put down a few inches of booster and planted directly into it. I then spread the awesome mulch over the top. Each fall I spread a layer of compost to revitalize the soil and then follow up with a layer of mulch in the Spring, if needed. The soil added is all Cedar Grove which I buy at the Tacoma Yard or get at Home Depot. I borrow a friends trailer and goes over there to fill it up”

A quick peel can make a big difference! Produce stickers are small, but add up quickly into one of the most common contaminants in finished compost. Taking a few seconds to remove them helps keep contamination out of the process from the start.

Pro tip: Peel stickers off when you unpack your groceries. It's much easier than trying to later when produce is soft or spoiled 🍎🍌🫑

🌿A big THANK YOU goes to Cedar Grove for generously donating their premium compost soil for Dan's garden beds. With such exceptional quality soil, the vegetables are flourishing beautifully! Dan is absolutely thrilled to witness this growth, as it allows him to enjoy healthy eating!🌿

We were excited to support Kokanee Elementary School’s garden with a compost donation, and even more excited to attend their harvest day celebration! This week marked the exciting moment when students harvested the vegetables they planted and grew from seed.

The best part is the fresh veggies from the garden will be donated to the Woodinville Storehouse Food Bank. We’re proud to support hands-on learning that connect students to where food comes from while giving back to the community 🍓🥕💚
