October 10-14 (Sat-Wed) & October 19-23 (Mon-Fri)
8:30am-5:30pm
$1350 plus tax (10.55%)
Limited to 6 students per workshop.

*Two years of glassblowing experience is required. Students must have a strong glassblowing foundation and be able to work independently.

Students will work in clear glass on forms such as tumblers, cylinders, bowls, forms with waists, and bottles, moving methodically from one shape to the next. Refining skills, working efficiently, improving heat control and surveying blowing theories will be covered. Instruction will be personalized to build on each student’s abilities, and one-on-one time will be given to help find simple solutions to common struggles. Each day will begin with a lecture and demonstration, followed by independent blow slots where teams will rotate daily to underscore the value of teamwork and collaboration.

Join the Seattle Architecture Foundation for a two-hour walking tour of Seattle's unique relationship with glass. While modern buildings are often fully wrapped entirely in glass, Seattle's older buildings have smaller scaled windows as you recede into the history of building design. Learn how architects and developers went from using glass as an opening nestled into a stone wall to today's modern buildings sheathed in glass. On this tour, you will discover how glass is used from the past to the present as Seattle has grown in the last few decades.

These anniversaries highlight the legacy, innovation, and global impact of Seattle’s glass scene.

This year’s theme, “A Year of Celebration,” brings fresh energy to the programming. Expect art parties, live demos, special exhibits, and open studios that pull you directly into the action. From hot shop heat to behind-the-scenes access, the festival offers immersive ways to connect with artists and explore the craft.

Art Table is a restaurant & bar that features a rotating exhibition of art on the walls, tables made by artists, and curiosities to be found in the space. By the entrance rest glass display cases, one enclosing handmade glassware by a longtime friend of the owner. Along the walls, art surrounds the theme of glass through the perspective of fragility and life (or “fragility of life”), reminding us to celebrate the little moments.
