🦉 A New Year’s Day Gift from the Rainforest

On New Year’s Day, I was blessed to see and photograph a rare Spectacled Owl (Búho de Anteojos) — one of the most sacred and elusive owls of Central America.

She was perched quietly in the green canopy, calmly watching, not flying away… just seeing.

In many traditions, this kind of owl is known as a guardian and messenger of wisdom.

A silent owl who meets your gaze is called a “witnessing owl” — a symbol that a turning point has been reached and a new chapter is beginning with protection, clarity, and ancestral guidance.

They say this kind of sighting marks a year of:
✨ quiet strength
✨ truth revealed
✨ creative and spiritual growth
✨ legacy and renewal

I’ll never forget this moment.
Sometimes nature sends us exactly the message we need to start a new year with hope and wonder. 🦉💚

🌿 Seeing the World Through My “Pura Vida Lens” 🎨

My art is inspired by how I see things—what I call my “Pura Vida Lens.” It helps me look at the world with a unique perspective shaped by life, culture, and emotion. Art is deeply personal. It reflects how we’ve been raised, what we’ve lived through, and how we experience the world—both its beauty and its struggles.

For me, art can be joyful and painful at the same time. It shows the beauty and the beast—not just in fairy tales, but in society, nature, and humanity.

During the pandemic in 2020, my artistic side came alive again. That same year, I also confirmed something I’d suspected: I have ADHD. Creating—whether through painting, photography, or working with my hands—has helped me focus on the little details that bring me peace and purpose.

Through my work, I hope to share messages that matter—about our planet, animals, people, and the social challenges we face. There’s so much more I want to explore.
