INDOOR-OUTDOOR CONNECTION The pavilion scheme of Greenwood Garden Home is completely connected to its landscape. The kitchen, dining area, and living space link to the front, side, and backyard gardens with a variety of thoughtfully placed openings. A dry garden on the street and raised beds for veggies and herbs can be accessed by the kitchen door as well as the front entrance. A northwest garden with native perennials fills the backyard.

We are looking for a new team member to handle some of our most complex projects, including early learning/educational, multifamily housing, mixed-use, and mission-driven institutional work. You would be responsible for the coordination of all project efforts, administrative and technical, to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective ex*****on of assigned projects. You would serve as the primary liaison with clients to complete projects on schedule, within budget, and with maximum client satisfaction, actively managing project communications and documentation. There will also be opportunities to work on select single-family residential projects if desired.

Qualifications:
•. First and foremost, you are an exceptional designer who excels working in a collaborative and creative environment
• A ‘can do’ cooperative attitude
• Highly organized project management
• 8+ years of experience
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in architecture from an accredited university is required
• Licensure is preferred.

Technical skills:
• Proficient with architectural drafting software, preferably ArchiCAD (Note – we do not use AutoCAD or Revit). We will train if you don’t have ArchiCAD experience but are ready to learn.
• Proficient with Bluebeam, Microsoft Office suite.
• Certification in Passive House or LEED, energy modeling, and experience with sustainable construction systems and methods is preferred.

Our studio environment is friendly and low-key. We enjoy working collaboratively and actively fostering a team approach in all of our endeavors.

Part of a decades-long environmental restoration of Port Gamble Bay, this project transforms a site once dominated by a 19th-century sawmill into a place that celebrates renewal—ecological, cultural, and communal.

CAST collaborated with Berger Partnership on the redevelopment of the popular Lakeside Park in Chelan, Washington.

CAST renovated the existing restroom structure, converting it from a traditional design to house 14 individual restroom stalls, 7 changing stalls, outdoor handwashing sinks, and drinking fountains.

Demolition Party! FYRE staff, supporters, and community members helped clear the way for the FYRE Village Youth Shelter by kicking off the demolition of the empty building at 9 Ash Street! Construction on the new facility will begin in earnest in early 2027.

The Foundation for Youth Resiliency and Engagement (FYRE) is an innovative grassroots organization serving young people 12-24 across Okanogan County.

Their services include educational advocacy, supporting young parents, increasing accessibility to whole-person health services, and providing referrals and resources to youth experiencing homelessness and sexual exploitation.

CAST is working with FYRE to design a residential shelter providing emergency and transitional housing for homeless youth. This new facility will also include various support functions, such as shared cooking and social spaces, as well as intake/counseling offices.

The Refugee Women’s Alliance is a non-profit organization that provides refugee and immigrant women and their families with culturally and linguistically appropriate services. Founded in 1985 by a group of successfully resettled refugee women, ReWA provides wrap-around services to more than 11,000 clients from over 70 different countries of origin.

We designed this 6,500 SF addition that combines a large community Gathering Hall, an Early Learning Center for 40 children, office space, and extensive site redevelopment. The space reflects ReWA’s core mission: to be a sanctuary for people who have traveled a long and difficult path. The building is LEED certified.

Seattle Social Housing Developer

At 997 square feet, this Sedge Cottage in Ballard provides well-daylit living space, essential storage, and two covered outdoor porches.

Within its compact form, there are three bedrooms and two baths, a galley kitchen with a peninsula, and ample storage. It features a bedroom and 3/4 bath on the main level that works well for an aging parent, as a guest room, or work-from-home office. The front porch clearly marks the entry of the accessory dwelling.

The design targets 4-Star Built Green, with details for reduced air infiltration, energy-efficient heating, cooling, and water heating systems, passive solar heat gain in window/shading in summer, low-VOC finishes, no fossil-fuel appliances, and all LED lighting.
