You may know Potterings as the go-to handbuilding studio for beginning potters, but we're also a community of clay builders through our member co-op. Today we spent the day at participating in our first Raku firing. It was exciting playing with fire and pottery up close.

We often tell students that once you learn how to properly wedge, roll, and compress a piece of clay, you're pretty much lawless. It's only your imagination that limits what you can make with clay. Check back for the finished and fired googlie-eyed Scrub Daddy sponge holder.

Join us for a September Try It Night and spend two hours making something you’ll actually use, from a coffee tumbler or oatmeal bowl to a keys-and-wallet tray or sculptural bookend.

No experience needed. Just bring yourself, get your hands in the clay, and see what you can make.
