Vertical World America’s First Indoor Climbing Gym - EST. 1987 We opened the very first rock climbing gym in America in 1987 on Elliott Ave in Seattle.
Vertical World – America’s First Climbing Gym® provides a unique training facility and specialized programs for youth and adults within our communities. The gym was no more than rocks glued to painted plywood panels. Today, with more advanced facilities, the Vertical World can accommodate a variety of custom group climbing needs, including: birthday parties, school and church groups, corporate events, private parties, and youth camps.

Summer Slam is BACK this Saturday!
And for the first time ever, we’re hosting FINALS on our new comp wall.
Finals starts at 5 PM Saturday August 29th
Nick has some important info!! Seattle bouldering will be closed ALL DAY THIS FRIDAY!
To prepare for Summer Slam, we will be closing each bouldering wall as they get set, they’ll remained closed until Saturday at noon.
Having FOMO? No worries, there’s still time to sign up and compete OR just come to watch Finals which starts at 5 PM!
SUMMER SLAM SCHEDULE:
Check in: 11 AM
Rules meeting: 11:45 PM
Comp: 12-3 PM
Raffle and Prizes: 4 PM
Finals: 5 PM

Both gyms on the Seattle campus will be closing early for staff meetings.
Summer Slam finals will be on our new elevated comp wall!
The ramp and the climbing team bouldering area will be set for Summer Slam!
