Lou Hazel

I think I made a mistake! A new song from a rock in Nevada.

I just got back from spending 17 days on Nantucket Island thanks to the kind folks over at Almanack Arts

I’ve never done an artist residency, and this one felt like the holy grail of them all. It was really inspiring spending time with Deep Sea Diver hh/md VAGABON Wet and anna fox rochinski !!

No more island time for Lou, back to work!

Here’s a new song called ‘Watch Me Win’ on Nantucket last week, in the tall windy grass where I forgot to check for ticks! I was at Almanack Arts doing an artist residency for the first time, where it was hard to get work done in such beautiful weather.

I’m leaving for tour in a few days and will be in Denver, Beaver Creek, Aspen, Solana Beach, LA, Fresno, Santa Rosa, San Francisco, Felton, Redding, Eugene, Portland, Trout Lake, and Seattle!

I’d love to see you at a show if you live in any of these places! Thanks for listening, and thanks VAGABON for filming this!

Here’s the second half of ‘Cardinal Song’ :)

Two deer here with eyes on me, mine on them. If I lie down in the clover, just to feel it on my skin. Crickets over thunder, it’s a wonder I’m still dry. I went digging for a temple, unearthed the countryside.

A song for Nancy.

Wrestle on the uphill, to see the view
for that old familiar feeling
feeling thing to do.
If I’ve cried on a photograph
If I’ve stared stared too long
Years appear strange in the mirror,
And I’m moving on.

Here’s an acoustic version of a song called “Two Crows”, that’ll be on a new record that’s almost done :)
Thanks for listening! 🐦‍⬛🐦‍⬛
