Our Clean City crews worked throughout the FIFA World Cup to keep our city clean, safe, accessible, and welcoming. During this time, we removed 294,575 pounds of debris, including 21,500 pounds of recycling!

Last week, we hosted our grand opening event, and it was such a remarkable experience. Folks visited from all over Seattle (and more!) to explore Reuse Commons Lake City, chat with our partners, and share with us about how a reuse, repair, and share hub could benefit them ♻️🫶

If you weren't able to make it, we want to hear your voice. This space, and future Reuse Commons spaces, are meant to create convenient community destinations for sustainable living through secondhand retail, repair services, classes, and shared resources.

Reuse Commons is an initiative of the City of Seattle Government (Seattle Office of Economic Development and Seattle Public Utilities) and the Reuse Commons Coalition, led locally by Seattle REconomy (North) and Furniture Repair Bank (South).

40 years ago, our community turned a waste challenge into a lasting legacy.

Together with Tilth Alliance, we helped launch the world’s first Seattle MCSS program. Today, our Master Composter/Sustainability Stewards continue to inspire neighbors to compost, recycle right, reduce waste, and care for our environment.
