We are pleased to announce the return of our Becoming Muslims Together class, led by Tgk. Sharief Yusuf. We are hosting this class for the first time at our home (2205 Rainier Ave S, Seattle WA 98144) on Sundays from 10AM - 1PM. Class starts this Sunday on September 20th!

Here’s a breakdown of the flow each week:

10AM - 11AM is a social hour. Come meet someone new, or catch up with the people you already know!

11AM - 12PM is our circle and study. Our teacher will be going over the topic of the week.

12PM - 1PM will be time for any questions. This would be a great time to present any questions you have!

We hope to see you there on Sunday. More helpful information will be provided this week! So stay tuned!

As the month of Rabi al Awwal comes to a close, we look back at a special in-person edition of our weekly online class, Deep Sunnah at Wasat.

More than a class, it was a night of full of love, remembrance, and sacred songs honoring our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

We are grateful to have Fitrah Outdoors at our 3rd Annual Family Retreat this year!

Fitrah Outdoors is a spiritually-rooted, community-led movement facilitating outdoor experiences as doorways to the Divine. Their programs help people digitally disconnect and spiritually reconnect with God, self, and creation, each one built around five principles - Remembrance (Dhikr’Allah), Gratitude (ShukrAllah), Adventure (Safr), Knowledge (Ilm), and Service (Khidmah). In practice, that looks like sunset hikes with Qur’anic reflection, e-biking through the Balkans, a farm stay with a traditional Moroccan shepherding family, sisters-only horseback riding adventures, and silent retreats. Since 2022, they’ve run nearly 20 programs, from half-day gatherings to eight-day international journeys, co-created with 30+ guides, scholars, artists, and farmers. Always in community and phone-free, programs are designed to send you home with new and practical ways to live your life more fully.

Fitrah Outdoors founder Sulayman Christopher and Mohamad Chakaki will be leading hikes during this year’s retreat.

We are proud to announce that Talha Baig will be joining us at our 3rd Annual Family Retreat this year!

Talha Baig is a watercolor painter and a wood-burning artist, who creates with a deep sense of reverence, using nature as both inspiration and guide in an aim to spark connection, gratitude, and stewardship through art. Nature for Talha, serves as his ultimate muse, which fuels his artistic fire and keeps him creating. It is his hope and prayer that through his art, he can inspire people to grow deep sense of respect for our natural world and encourage all to venture outside more often to reflect upon and experience the wonderful nature we are all blessed with and hopefully by doing so, form a deeper & stronger connection with the natural world, with ourselves, and The Creator. He aims to capture the mystery, moodiness, and the soul stirring brilliance of our world in his works. All of his artwork is handmade in the heart of the PNW and is rooted in a love for the great outdoors, in tradition, and connection. Talha has shown his work at art shows/festivals in and around Seattle and in 2025 he was awarded an art residency through Shunpike in downtown Seattle.

Talha will be leading a watercoloring class in nature at the retreat.

Join us in having Ameer Noureldin with us at our 3rd Annual Family Retreat.

Ameer Noureldin is a munshid and percussionist from Chicago, IL. He learned to recite from his mother as a child, and has been a munshid at Ta’leef Chicago since its opening in 2017. Since then he has been a student of the sacred music and spiritual poetry of the Islamic tradition, focusing on the classics of the Arabic language but also incorporating song from other languages including Urdu, Turkish, and Spanish. He has sung and performed all across the world at a wide range of retreats, conferences, and spiritual gatherings.

We are blessed to have the presence of our Imam Adeyinka Mendes in Seattle next week! He will be attending and leading many events throughout The Greater Seattle area. There will be many opportunities to benefit from his wisdom next week!
