From Deb’s demonstrations to students testing techniques at their own benches, this class was about learning through doing — watching closely, trying things out, adjusting, and gradually finding their own way with the process.
Colored pencils, metal, lots of tools, very busy benches, and a studio full of people completely absorbed in their work.

Bold Color-Whimsical Charm: Deb Karash Jewelry Pop-Up Friday!
Drawing on metal allows artist Deb Karash to blend colors and create patterns uniquely her own. Her one of a kind Jewelry combines fashion, ornament, art, texture, color, and structure. Deb is here to teach a workshop, lucky for us she’s bringing some wares to share. Come by during the U-District Art Walk to meet the artists and discover her gorgeous work. Drinks, treats, and inspiration on us!

Gathered by Mēgan over 30 years, the exhibition brings together distinctive, wearable contemporary jewelry by more than 30 artists. Most pieces are one-of-a-kind, each chosen for its unique character and the artist’s individual vision.

I am so unbelievably impressed with work that came out of this years teen camp. Aren’t you?!?! Makes me feel hopeful for the future of our handcraft field. Anyone need an apprentice next summer?
How cool is this? We’re hosting the “Corwin Collection” in the gallery! See some of it online and all of it here in the gallery. This is an eclectic collection of contemporary art jewelry collected by Megan Corwin over the course of 30 years and she is selling ALL of these items!

Are you jealous of how much fun these kids had in the Jewelry and Metalsmithing Kids Camp?! I mean wow! Did you know an 8 year old can saw like a champ?! Great class! Thanks to Tegan Wallace (she/her) for making Magic again this year. Next up, Teen Camp! End of August. There’s still room if you know anyone ages 12-16 who likes to make stuff!
