You've probably met more people with disabilities than you realize. Many just don't identify that way.

It's called the disability identity gap, and it's bigger than most people think. Millions of people live with ADHD, chronic pain, hearing loss, anxiety, and other conditions every day without ever calling themselves disabled. Not because their experiences aren't real, but because it's not always that simple.

Swipe through to learn what the disability identity gap is, why it exists, and how a simple shift in perspective can change the conversation.

Some jobs you clock into. This one you fall in love with.

Every child. Every family. Every day. That's the whole job, and our Early Supports team wouldn't have it any other way. 💙

Northwest Center Kids Early Learning is now enrolling infants and waddlers, ages 0 to 24 months, in welcoming, play-based classrooms where children build skills, explore, and grow with support from experienced educators.

We hold a Level 5 Early Achievers rating, Washington State's highest level of quality in early learning.

Sometimes the smallest moments stay with us the longest. Tell us about someone who made you feel like you belonged.

As July comes to a close, we're reflecting on Disability Pride Month and the anniversary of one of the most important civil rights milestones in our nation's history.

Earlier this week on July 26th, we marked 36 years since the Americans with Disabilities Act was signed into law, prohibiting discrimination against people with disabilities and helping make workplaces, schools, transportation, businesses, and public spaces more accessible.

The ADA affirmed that people with disabilities deserve equal access, equal opportunity, and the ability to participate fully in every part of community life. While there is still work to do, its impact can be seen every day in everything from curb cuts and accessible entrances to workplace accommodations and equal access to services.

We're proud to continue supporting a future where diversity inclusion, opportunity, and belonging are available to everyone, and we're grateful to those whose advocacy helped make that progress possible.
