Happy Birthday to our Billing and Insurance Coordinator, Jules! We are so lucky ton have them on our team. Jules does an amazing job at keeping our clinic running smoothly by assisting our families accessing care through insurance. They are a wonderful advocate for our clients with insurance and brings such care and compassion to all they work with!

Our clients and families have been "UP" to a lot this summer, from biking, trying new foods, playing with cousins, and camping! We love seeing children take pride in writing and drawing AND helping decorate our lobby. We hope you all had a fun and safe summer! Good luck to all those who are back to school this week!

Happy birthday to our amazing OT Director, Kelly! We are so grateful to have her leading our OT team. She works hard to provide mentorship and guidance to our occupational therapists and brings an expansive knowledge of DIR FloorTime concepts to our team and the clients she serves. We hope she has a fabulous day!

The new school year is right around the corner! On September 12th, join special education attorneys for an in-depth training workshop on utilizing the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) to develop appropriate services for your child or student. This workshop, hosted by WA Autism Alliance, will provide a comprehensive understanding of your child’s special education program and your rights. The training will be held via Zoom webinar. This month, we celebrate Deaf Communication Month! 💙�There’s many ways for Deaf people to communicate! Some ways Deaf individuals may communicate include: American Sign Language (ASL) or other sign languages, writing or typing messages, speech to text or text to speech software, lipreading, cochlear implants, texting, video calls, or captioned calls, and real-time captioning or interpreting services. As an OT and SLP clinic, we honor all forms of communication and work to support accessibility, understanding, and inclusion for the Deaf community.

Literacy is more than reading, it’s a key part of communication, learning, and independence. Our OTs and SLPs work together to support the building blocks of literacy from language development to fine motor skills for writing. Join us in celebrating the joy and power of literacy this month!

As summer comes to a close, it can be helpful to start preparing for a change in routine and environment with the school year approaching. Here are some tips to help your child transition smoothly into the new school year.

Today is World Humanitarian Day. It highlights the importance of protecting civilians and supporting humanitarian efforts around the world. It encourages people to show solidarity with communities facing hardship and to recognize the value of compassion, service, and collective action.
