Did you know mismatched tire tread depths can cause serious damage to your drivetrain?

On front-wheel-drive and rear-wheel-drive vehicles, the tires on the same axle need to be close in tread depth.

On AWD and automatic 4WD vehicles, all four tires need to match closely. If one tire is more worn than the others, it has a different overall diameter and rotates at a different speed. Over time, this can damage the transfer case, differentials, or AWD system.

That’s why replacing only one tire isn’t always the right answer. Before installing it, we need to check the tread depth of the other three tires and verify the manufacturer’s specifications.

A tire is a lot cheaper than a transfer case. If you’re unsure whether yours match, let us check them.

A good friend of ours reached out and asked if we could help get the A/C working again in his Porsche.

Now, anybody who knows us knows we typically try to stay away from working on European cars 😂 But he’s a good friend of Phase 2, so we decided to make an exception and see what we could do.

And boy, were we all pleasantly surprised at just how efficient and effective the A/C system is in this thing!

After getting everything back up and working like it should, this Porsche was absolutely FREEZING inside. 🥶

Definitely not something you'll see in the Phase 2 shop every day, but it was a fun one!

Some tools such as the Powerprobe Draw monitor just make life easier. Being able to simple disconnrct a battery and watch rate of discharge and graphing without connecting a lab scope is wonderful!

Powerprobe has consistently made our jobs a little easier!

Little A/C work on this 2018 Silverado today! 🥶

Around here, we don't just slap some Freon in it and say, “Yep, she's cold!” 😂

Especially with R-1234yf. That stuff is way too expensive to be donating it to the atmosphere because nobody bothered to find the leak.

This Silverado came in with an A/C issue, and after inspection and nitrogen pressure testing, we tracked the problem down to a leaking expansion block.

Nitrogen testing allows us to pressurize the system and actually hunt down leaks BEFORE we waste expensive refrigerant filling a system that's just going to leak it right back out.

Find the leak. Fix the problem. THEN charge the system.

Same thing goes for the rest of the vehicle.

Loading up the parts cannon and firing until the problem goes away ain't diagnostics.
