Silver Spring Jazzfest is closing out the night with international Afro-Cuban superstar CIMAFUNK, bringing his electrifying blend of Afro-Cuban rhythms, funk, jazz, hip-hop, soul, and R&B to the Main Stage at 8:30pm!

Cimafunk has become one of the most exciting performers in global music. He’s rocked major festivals including Bonnaroo, Coachella, Newport Jazz Festival, Montreal Jazz Festival, and New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, appeared on NPR’s Tiny Desk and earned multiple Grammy nominations along the way.

Cimafunk is redefining what Cuban music can sound like and turning audiences around the world into believers in the power of the GROOVE.

Bassist and bandleader Michael Hawkins is a respected voice in the DC and Baltimore jazz scene, known for his deep pocket, warm tone, and thoughtful compositional style.

Hawkins steps into the spotlight with The Brotherhood a band rooted in the traditions of jazz while bringing its own contemporary energy to the stage.

Taking the Main Stage at 5pm, saxophonist Paul Carr brings his acclaimed quartet to Silver Spring for an evening of straight-ahead jazz honoring Coltrane’s enduring legacy.

A longtime fixture of the Washington jazz community, Paul Carr is the founder of the Jazz Academy of Music and the Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival.

Joining the quartet is acclaimed vocalist Alison Crockett, who's soulful, genre-crossing voice adds another dimension to this special performance.

Look how narrow the path is to get the huge stage in place for Saturday's show! And we designed this plaza with this festival in mind! Now that is talent.
