Fraud Alert: Protect Your Workers’ Compensation Benefits

Scammers in other states have targeted injured workers by pretending to be connected to workers’ compensation claims, hearings, settlements, judges, attorneys, government agencies, or insurance companies.

They may contact you by phone, email, text, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, video call, or another online platform. They may ask you to pay money before you can receive benefits or a settlement.

Do not send money. Do not share personal information.

Louisiana Works and OWCA will never ask you to pay money to receive workers’ compensation benefits.

To verify a suspicious message or report suspected fraud, call the Workers’ Compensation Fraud Hotline at 800-201-3362.
