August is National Wellness Month 💚
Small habits can make a big difference in how we start our day. This month, our Mental Health Program Coordinator, Lesleigh, is sharing one of her favorite wellness tips: waiting at least 30 minutes after waking up before getting on her phone. 📱✨
Giving yourself a little screen-free time in the morning can help you ease into the day with more intention, reduce stress, and create space to focus on what matters most.

Cobb Collaborative Executive Director Irene Barton was honored to support Cobb State Court Clerk Tahnicia Phillips and Deputy Clerk Alisha Hargett at their inaugural Back to School Bash in Mableton on August 2nd.
The event brought together students, families, and community partners to connect with valuable resources, safety information, and health services as they prepare for the new school year. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success and for your shared commitment to supporting Cobb County families.💚
Last week, members of the Cobb Collaborative team attended the Vote Your Voice Convening hosted by the Southern Poverty Law Center . Through inspiring panel discussions and engaging breakout sessions, Irene, Jacob, and Alexandra connected with advocates, community leaders, and organizers from across the region to explore new strategies for expanding voter access and elevating every community’s voice.
We’re excited to bring these ideas back to Cobb County as we continue fostering civic engagement, strengthening partnerships, and empowering residents to make their voices heard.

Culture, identity, and lived experiences all play an important role in mental health. 📣🏽
This July, Cobb Collaborative is proud to amplify Mental Health America's national campaign recognizing Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month.
Created in honor of mental health advocate Bebe Moore Campbell, this observance shines a light on the disparities many communities of color face in accessing quality mental health care while encouraging open, culturally responsive conversations about well-being.
By fostering trusted spaces for dialogue and increasing awareness of available resources, we can help ensure that everyone has the opportunity to access the support they need.
Together, we can build a more resilient and equitable community. 💙
