Boston Magic Lab

The Magic Lab is returning October 8 with an incredible lineup to kick off the season.

We have Magic Lab staples, new magic, and not one but TWO special guests.

Our special guests this month perform regularly on luxury cruise lines, and since one such cruise line is departing from Boston a few days after the Lab, we are able to feature them as our headliners. Stay tuned on our socials as we introduce each performer next week.

Tickets are already live. We often sell out, so grab them while you still can.

Welcome back to another season of The Magic Lab.

Season 8 of Magic Lab kicked off with a LIGHTNING ROUND at The Foundry

19 performers.
5 minutes each -- with a 1 minute warning bell and a GONG 💥🥁🔔💥 to signal the end of a set.

And an invitation for one audience member to hop onstage and do an impromptu set... (though no one was brave enough to take up that challenge this time).

It's always a fun time and a great way to get people excited for the start of the season.

Get excited, because we will announce the lineup for the October Magic Lab tomorrow!

All these photos are taken by the incredible Photo Mark Thomas -- except for one. (Mark is also a magician, and he wasn't able to take a photo of himself).

Season 8 of The Magic Lab is kicking off with a LIGHTNING ROUND!

Magicians sign up first-come, first-serve in a true open mic style show. At five minutes, we ring a legit GONG 🔊🔔🛎️📢, and that performer's time is up!

Seats are going to fill up fast, so grab a ticket soon! Are you a magician? Sign-ups are at a link in the Eventbrite FAQ (though spots are nearly gone!)

See you there!

The Foundry

Meet the two performers who performed close-up before the final show of our season: Matthew Adamson and John Bach.

They entertained audiences in the lobby while our stage crew got the room ready for the show. Shoot us a DM and let us know if you enjoyed being able to see close-up magic this year!

Swipe to see photos of these two magicians working the crowds!

And just like that, another season of The Magic Lab has come to an end!

What a year it has been! It was our first year at Cambridge Foundry, we started a close-up magic program, AND we came together as a magic and performing arts community to make this show happen.

Thank you to all of the magicians who contribute -- both onstage and behind the scenes and thank you to our audiences who continue to show up for live entertainment and magic!

Introducing Performer 5 of 5:

Deanna Congo

Deanna has done magic from coast to coast for the last 20 years. She has a YouTube channel with over 150 magic videos for your entertainment and is now based on Massachusetts where she is expanding her skills as a magician and performer.

Catch this prolific magician TOMORROW at The Magic Lab!

Introducing Performer 4 of 5:

Felice Ling

For over a decade, Felice Ling has popped up on streets around the world. This occasionally international street performer has been seen at Faneuil Hall, Harvard Square, and fringe festivals from Edinburgh to Adelaide. She was a finalist at the Inaugural FISM World Championship of Street Magic in 2025.

Off the street, she is the owner of the Boston Magic Lab and a performer honing her parlor and close-up magic. She has taken her creative – and awkward – performing style to the Chicago Magic Lounge, and to theaters, cabarets, and conventions throughout the US.

Catch her on her home stage of The Magic Lab this May. Grab your tickets today!

Introducing Performer 3 of 5, and your headliner for this show:

Joel Acevedo

Joel Acevedo was a kid when he fell in love with magic. During later years, Joel combined his studies in Computer Engineering with magic performances for individuals and corporations such as IBM, Oracle, and Liberty Mutual.

He is both a student and teacher of magic; he's been involved with the magic school La Gran Escuela de la Magia in Madrid, Spain, and Jeff McBride's Mystery School in Las Vegas. In addition to his private engagements, he is the producer and co-star of one of Boston's highest rated shows: Four-Handed Illusions: An Intimate Evening of Laughs and Wonder.

Get your tickets to catch Joel on The Magic Lab stage today!

Introducing Performer 2 of 5:

Jonas Cohen

Jonas is a mentalist who has been called “awe-inspiring” by the CEO of the Boston Globe, “unbelievable” by countless VIPs, and "just so handsome" by his own mother. He's mesmerized audiences at corporate events, private parties, and theaters across New England. He doesn't perform for you — he performs with you, creating moments you'll be talking about long after tonight.

We're excited to have him back at the Lab.
