WEATHER UPDATE 🌧️ | Out of an abundance of caution due to the expected inclement weather, our friends at have officially canceled this weekend’s in-person Ride & Stride for Food.

While Team Food For Free won't be out on the course this weekend, the need for fresh, nutritious food across Greater Boston, and all of New England, remains incredibly urgent.

You can still support our team’s fundraising efforts and help us keep our trucks moving, pantries stocked, and neighbors fed! Every dollar raised directly supports our mission and programs. 💚

Join us for an evening of classical music to support Food For Free! We are thrilled to partner with Music For Food for this season's concert series. For their season-opening concert, they'll be celebrating György Kurtág’s 100th year and honoring two renowned musical families.

100% of proceeds will directly support Food For Free, helping us source and distribute fresh, nutritious food to over 197,000 neighbors throughout Greater Boston.

Last week, Food For Free team members stepped up to take calls and collect donations during the Day of Giving telethon in the studio at . We’re proud to stand alongside GBFB and WCVB Channel 5 Boston to raise the critical funds needed to keep healthy, fresh food moving to our neighbors across Greater Boston.

A huge thank you to everyone who called in, made a gift, and supported the telethon! Together, we are building a stronger, more resilient community food system.

We’re proud to partner with the City of Somerville to bring consistent, nutritious food directly to families through our School Markets.

In a particularly tight budget year, we’re especially thankful that the City was able to prioritize funding for this work. This support allows Food For Free to purchase additional food to complement the donated food items we receive, helping us offer school families a consistent selection of nutritious produce and culturally familiar staples they can count on each month and plan meals around.

This partnership helps us create School Markets that offer not just more food, but greater consistency, choice, and dignity for Somerville students and families. We deeply appreciate Somerville’s commitment to keeping nutritious food accessible to families across the city and its partnership in making these markets possible. Thank you.

We’re so grateful to the City of Cambridge for its continued investment in Food For Free’s school-based food access programs!

For many years, the City’s support has helped sustain our School Markets and Carrot Card programs in partnership with Cambridge Public Schools, strengthening access to nutritious food for students and families across Cambridge.

We’re especially grateful to Assistant City Managers, Joseph Corazzini and Sue Walsh, and the Department of Human Service Programs for their partnership and commitment to this work. We’ve appreciated the opportunity to continue building our relationship with Joseph and his team while working together to support Cambridge families.
