🌟 BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT: HAUL YEAH JUNK REMOVAL 🌟
This week, I’m shining the spotlight on Haul Yeah Junk Removal, a family-owned and operated junk hauling company serving Spokane and surrounding communities throughout Eastern Washington.
From residential clean-outs and household junk removal to commercial debris hauling, Haul Yeah helps families and businesses reclaim their space with dependable, affordable service. They proudly serve Spokane, Spokane Valley, Liberty Lake, Cheney, Airway Heights, Medical Lake, Millwood, Otis Orchards, Greenacres, Deer Park, Chattaroy, Elk, Loon Lake, and surrounding areas.
But there’s much more to Haul Yeah than simply hauling things away.
❤️ WHY IT MATTERS
Haul Yeah was born out of a major life change. After 13 years in the mortgage industry, Kelly was unexpectedly laid off in late 2024. He began exploring a new career as a financial advisor, but the day before he was supposed to start, his family learned that their 3-year-old daughter had a brain tumor.
Multiple extended hospital stays and brain surgeries followed, changing the direction of their family’s life.
As Kelly searched for something more fulfilling, inspiration came in an unexpected moment. While rocking his young son to sleep one night, he noticed the Ring light outside illuminating their dump trailer. A little social media research turned into an idea, and Haul Yeah Junk Removal officially launched on August 1, 2025.
Today, that business has another purpose beyond helping people clear out their unwanted items. Haul Yeah donates a percentage of their earnings to help families impacted by pediatric brain tumors.
So when you hire Haul Yeah, you're not just reclaiming space in your home or business. You're helping a local, family-owned business give back to families facing something incredibly difficult.
💭 MY PERSPECTIVE
This is one of the things I love about spotlighting local businesses—you often discover there’s so much more behind the business than what you see on the surface. Behind Haul Yeah is a family that went through something life-changing and chose to build something meaningful from it. They also understand that when you invite someone into your home, trust matters. With so many inexpensive junk removal offers on Marketplace and Craigslist, Haul Yeah wants customers to know who is behind the brand and that their belongings will be handled ethically and responsibly. And, of course, every haul comes with its own story, including one involving 65 bags of aluminum cans, all but 16 of them Busch. When asked if she was a Busch Light fan, the customer laughed and replied, “I can't stand Busch Light, only Busch.” Those personal connections and unexpected moments are what make running a local business memorable.
💡 TIP FOR YOUR BUSINESS
Let people see the person behind the business. You don't have to have a perfect story. You don't need to have everything figured out. Sometimes the most meaningful connections happen when you simply share your journey and give people a reason to know, like, and trust the person behind the logo.
As the owner of Haul Yeah puts it:
“We can do great things together. It only takes one person to start, share their journey, and make others feel comfortable to share and join together.”
And I think that's a lesson that applies to every local business.

Working with Totes Awkward on these illustrations has been such a fun, rewarding collaboration for me! 🎨 ✨
She comes up with the absolute best concepts, and it's been a blast taking her wild ideas and turning them into finished artwork. Once the design is done, she takes over to create and sell awesome custom tote bags!
Whether it's a possum living its best life on a Roomba with a glass of w**e 🍷 🐾, a majestic Queen T-Rex blowing bubbles 👑 🦖, a rainbow-powered unicorn 🌈 🦄, or a literal "Attempted Murder" of crows 🐦⬛... turning her visions into custom illustrations has been such a creative highlight. Projects like this are a huge reminder of why I love doing custom design work!
Interested in snagging one of these fun totes for yourself? Reach out to Totes Awkward directly to see where you can buy one. She has even more fun designs available!

Have you ever looked at a marketing piece, thought "That looks really good!"... and stopped there?
You're not alone. But here's the problem: good-looking marketing isn't automatically good marketing.
Your colors can be beautiful, your photos gorgeous, and your design polished. But if your ideal customer doesn't understand it, doesn't see themselves in it, or doesn't know what to do next... it's not doing its job.
Your marketing should absolutely look like your brand, but it also needs to communicate, connect, and move people toward action. That's why I always come back to keeping things cohesive, aligned, and intentional.
Design matters. But what you're saying, who you're saying it to, and why they should care matters just as much. Consistency and clarity across your marketing help people connect one interaction to the next.
👇 So, what's your answer?
A — Looks good
B — Speaks to my customer
C — Both
D — I honestly just make it look good
If you picked C... you're right. Good marketing should look good AND do something.
And if you picked A or D... don't worry. 😂 You're definitely not alone.

When Palm & Froese Law needed signage, we carried their existing branding right through to their physical space.
Their exterior street sign, building entrance decal, and office door decals all work together to make them easier to find and give their clients a clear, professional welcome.
Same branding. Same look. Cohesive from the street to the office.
Show up like it matters. Because it does.

Kevin at West Hills Automotive wanted branded apparel for himself and his team, so we put together DTF transfer shirts and embroidered caps featuring their branding.
Nothing complicated. Just good-looking, cohesive apparel that helps the whole team look like a team.
Sometimes the simple things make a big difference.

Think stickers are just for putting your logo on something? Think again.
We've made stickers and labels for businesses that use them in some pretty different ways - from product packaging and resale items to swag bags and events, all the way to practical service labels for trades.
And that's what I love about promotional products and branded materials.
You don't always need something bigger. You need something that makes sense for your business:
- A plumber can use a service label to leave their contact information right where the customer will see it.
- A product-based business can use a custom label to make packaging feel more finished.
- A business heading to an event can toss branded stickers into swag bags.
Same basic product. Completely different purpose.
That's where thoughtful branding comes in - figuring out where your brand can actually be useful, not just where you can put your logo.
What could your business put a sticker or label to work on? 👇

When I started working on the branding for Next Era Foundation, one of the biggest goals was finding the balance between executive credibility and transformational empowerment.
This isn't a brand that needed to feel like a traditional nonprofit. It needed to feel confident, purposeful, sophisticated and encouraging—something that could speak just as naturally to corporate partners, donors and grant organizations as it could to the women and girls the Foundation serves.
That thinking is what led to the visual identity you see here.
The NE monogram becomes the foundation of the logo, extending upward into a North Star—a symbol of direction, clarity and purpose.
The color palette pairs periwinkle for trust and authority with soft purple for wisdom, growth and warmth.
And instead of creating one logo and calling it done, we built a complete system with variations for different applications, sizes and platforms. Because that's the part of branding I really love.
It's not just about creating a logo that looks good. It's about creating something cohesive, aligned and intentional that gives a business or organization a foundation to build on. And I think Next Era Foundation now has exactly that. 💜
What do you notice first when you look at this brand—the logo, the colors, or the meaning behind the symbol?

🌟 BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT: SPOKANE HELPERS NETWORK 🌟
This week, I’m spotlighting a remarkable local non-profit doing crucial work right here in our community! Spokane Helpers Network is a grassroots 501(c)(3) dedicated to delivering free food, hygiene items, and bus fare directly to the doorsteps of hungry and homebound Spokane County residents.
What started during COVID as a group of South Hill neighbors stepping up for those without paychecks has grown into a vital lifeline for our area. Many people don't realize that standard food banks aren't accessible for everyone—especially neighbors who are disabled, ill, frail, or lacking transportation. By delivering necessities straight to their doors, Spokane Helpers Network ensures nobody falls through the cracks. Beyond physical supplies, they make a point to deliver hope, kindness, and smiles, making sure every recipient feels dignity and respect. 🙌
💡 TIP FOR YOUR BUSINESS:
When you make a mistake, own it... immediately. Offer a clear solution to accommodate for your error right away. Taking accountability builds trust and shows your audience or clients that you value integrity above all else.
❤️ MY PERSPECTIVE:
What moves me most about Spokane Helpers Network is their deep understanding that there is no one-size-fits-all solution to helping people. It takes incredible empathy to recognize the invisible barriers in our community and adapt to meet people where they are. Their volunteers refuse to turn a blind eye to the suffering of hungry households, showing up with compassion and a listening ear for every single person they encounter. That is the true heart of community care.
💬 LET'S TALK:
What is one barrier to basic necessities you’ve noticed in our region, and how can we come together as a community to help bridge that gap?

It all started with a wood-burned logo. 👀
Corbin came to us with a custom piece he’d wood-burned by hand. He loved his design - he just needed it in a format he could actually use for his business.
We took his physical artwork and turned it into a clean, print-ready vector file. From there, we got to work putting it on the essentials: custom embroidered hats, sharp business cards, and vehicle decals.
After he had picked up, Corbin dropped this sweet review:
“Lindsey was very good to work with. She kept things simple and professional. The decal, hats, and business cards came in a good amount of time and quality was fantastic. I will be working with Lindsey in the future!”
Same original artwork—just prepped to go to work everywhere he goes.
