We didn't invent running, social runs, post run cold beverages or even being Irish but we are the big Come Fly with US! Run with The Flying Irish Running Club!

From March through November
Off-Season: Dec-Feb we still run just no shirting and we still meet up at 5:45 and run at 6!!! We run every Thursday. Meet at 5:45pm & run at 6:00. Walk, jog, slog, or fly though roughly three miles with us. We have upwards of 100 runners a week joining in the fun so don't miss out. WALKERS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME! Show-up six times and you will be awarded via some sort of pseudo-ritualistic ceremony, the soon to be, 'World famous', Flying Irish Running Club Shirt . The coveted shirt is good for food & drink specials after the run. Plus its free to join!

Tonight was an evening for the books! Congrats Eddie Tompson on your 666th run - thank you and Dominic Bartoletta for leading us in a little pre-run song! Also shout out to Jon from the Boulevard Race for joining us tonight and even bringing the bagpipes for a sneak preview of what to expect on race day. And last but not least, thank you to O’Doherty’s Irish Grille for hosting and always taking such good care of us and our post-run hydration needs.

In other news: our annual shirts are here! If you weren’t able to pick yours up tonight we will have them at next week’s run as well as some extras for sale (while supplies last!) see a board member and we can get you squared away.

Today was a beautiful day for a Cross Country Race! Thank you Natalie, Allison, Malcolm, David, Jess, and Dean for showing up and running for the Flying Irish team at Audubon Park this morning. We placed 5th in the run club challenge, finishing behind East Valley Knights, Genus, and Run Perry Run Club.

The next race is the Qualchan Bluff 12k on Sunday, October 4th and we would love a team of at least 5 runners but the more the merrier! If you’re interested, ask one of us after our weekly run or visit the registration page for more details: https://runsignup.com/Race/WA/Spokane/BRRCCrossCountryRaces

Many of you know Rhonda Paulsen as she is a long time Flying Irish member with over 300 runs.

What you may not have known is that Rhonda tragically lost her house, and everything in it, during the Spokane complex fires last month. It has been really inspiring to see Rhonda’s resilience and ever-present positive attitude throughout the unimaginable, and it has also been heartwarming to see the running community come together to support one another during this difficult time.

Two years ago, Rhonda won a Flying Irish cribbage board as one of the grand prizes at the end of season party. This board, along with countless other valuables, was unfortunately lost in the fire. Last week our former Grand Poobah Brendan Dowling generously donated and presented Rhonda with a new cribbage board to replace her old one.

Thank you Brendan, and thank you to our other members who have helped support one another in the wake of these devastating fires 🙏
