Maji Rising is a non-profit organization created to start a health care and education center in Spokane, Washington to serve our neighbors who are experiencing the most need in Spokane, Washington. With a mission to cultivate a community of holistic care that empowers individuals to seek better outcomes for themselves, and a vision firmly set on creating a more equitable future, Maji Rising aims to foster the traditions of lineage-based health care, establishing a transformative community dedicated to healing and promoting overall well-being.

The ADA PNW was honored to join and be joined by Abundant Low Carb at the Village of Care— a two day pop-up event where healthcare, housing support, food, culture, music, and healing came together in one welcoming space.
We’re grateful to be part of an event that centers belonging, dignity, accessibility, and connection. Thank you to everyone who helped create space where neighbors, providers, and community leaders could come together and experience what care can—and should—look like.

So many beautiful moments from the Village of Care. Community showed up, connections were made, resources were shared, and joy filled Liberty Park.

There is a specific kind of quiet that happens when someone finally sits down and gets asked how they are actually doing.
We heard it all weekend.
The Village of Care brought physical, mental and spiritual health, housing, financial wellness, and holistic care under one sky. Free. No insurance card, no intake maze, no one asking anybody to prove they deserved to be there.
Some folks came for a blood pressure check and walked away knowing something about their own body nobody had ever told them. That is not small. That is the distance between guessing and knowing, and people crossed it on the grass in Spokane this weekend.
Dignity is not the thing you add at the end. It is where we start.
This is a movement, not an event. Thank you for moving with us.
