On Monday, Sept. 21, the City of Spokane’s Development Services Center is opening a remote office at Spokane Public Library Shadle Park. The remote office will be open Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. A City Planner and Plan Reviewer will be on-site to meet with fire-impacted residents. These staff members will be available to evaluate needs and help residents navigate permitting services. Check out the original post for more information about available resources.

The City of Spokane has compiled a public damage assessment dashboard that shows the status of every impacted structure and those generally within 500 feet of the burn area. In the coming weeks, the City will add additional functions to this tool, including the status of demolition and construction permits, and eventually, information showing which properties have been rebuilt and are ready for move-in.

𝗥𝗲𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
The Brown Administration is bringing forward two ordinances focused on rebuilding that will identify opportunities to assist fire-affected residents move from recovery to reconstruction. Together, these ordinances propose ADUs before principal dwelling, general facility charge waivers, permit fee deferral, and "like-for-like.”

New books for the whole family's TBR!

For thousands of years, salmon have been central to the lives, culture and traditions of tribal people in the Inland Northwest. "Spokane River Salmon: Past. Present. Future." explores this connection through artwork by Spokane Tribal Member George Hill, historical materials, and the Spokane Tribe’s work to return salmon to the river.

Visit the exhibit at Central Library Sept. 19–Nov. 30 and attend events featuring artists, historians, curators, and tribal leaders.

Bring your garden bounty to the Harvest Swap on September 19 from 10am–12pm at Shadle Park Library. Trade your homegrown produce, share gardening treasures and see what your neighbors have grown or dug up for you! In partnership with Growing Neighbors.

Bring old electronics to select Spokane Public Library locations during our first ever Electronics Recycle & Backup event with PCs for People. This event will run from 9am-6pm at each of these locations:
• Wednesday, September 16, Shadle Park Library in the Studio
• Thursday, September 17, Indian Trail Library in the Events room
• Friday, September 18, South Hill Library in the Events room
