Just a little blog of sorts about what's going on with our little home-school adventure here at Wise Academy
everyone has been busy with school work. next week 3 field trips plus their day at homelink, so probably won't be a lot of "schoolwork" going on, but all winter we really crack those books, so when spring time rolls around we can hit the parks, go to silverwood or just simply relax all afternoon because they get through so much now ... the biggest joy of homeschooling, no 8 - 3 mon - fri :)

love homeschooling, great field trips, last week we went with over 250 homeschoolers to see monsters university! today we got up early (ok, you morning people think i slept in, but i'm NOT a morning person! lol) and went to Tomato Street, toured the restaurant and then they treated us all to a slice of pizza (no, zach didn't eat his, but his sister didn't mind eating it for him!!)
yesterday we went to Sky High (indoor trampoline & foam pit), cailin ended up at the ER with a sprained ankle. this morning ... Daddy: why aren't you doing your schoolwork? Cailin: i sprained my ankle. (i snuck out behind her after that answer) and asked if she sprained her brain too ... so she went and got busy, then i turned to the little boy, what's your excuse? and he has the nerve to hold up the nook and show me what he's watching. move it! sheesh, isn't it to early for this? they aren't supposed to try to get out of school work until around november, or maybe the first snow, but not october 1st! i'm not ready to deal with attitude yet, lol
Zach loved his first day at homelink!! in cooking class they made caramel apples, of course he wouldn't even try it. the kid loves cooking, but hates eating, lol

finished my first monthly reports for Homelink, hopefully they'll be approved and i can move on :)
Thrilled to have ALMOST all of our curriculum and looking forward to getting super busy next week, especially looking forward to physics. science was the main subject that has worried me about homeschooling and this is the first year i'll be teaching it, but we will be using Real Science 4 Kids for Cailin and Zach, it looks like it will be fun. Brianna is using Oak Meadow and i saw a lot of neat experiments in there!
my poor lil man was to sick and had to miss the first day of classes at homelink. the girls however where absolutely thrilled with their classes, brianna got into the drawing class that had been full! cailin said she likes it way better than svla, of course what kid wouldn't like taking guitar, computers, archery, geology & gemstones and self-defense vs. things like writing, spanish, science, etc.
(esp a kid with dysgraphia)
WOW the kids are just in slow-mo today. can't be burned out already, they don't even have all their books yet! weather? worn out from the weekend? seriously, cailin has a worksheet with some questions about the world fair (i forget which year), all she has to do is look up the info on the comp and write it down, how many HOURS can that possibly take?????????? so no park, no library, nothing today, hopefully tomorrow our energy will be renewed and everyone will have it together.
