Safety Net was honored to receive a $5,000 grant from 3C’s at their Community Awards Luncheon in August! We are incredibly appreciative of 3C’s continued support and the generosity they have shown Safety Net over the past several years. Their investment helps us continue providing essential support to youth as they navigate life after foster care 🫶

A special thank you to our committee and board member, Marie Widmyer, for all of her hard work helping make the annual 3C’s Fashion Show such a success! 👗✨

Because of the incredible work of 3C’s and everyone who supports the Fashion Show, $137,000 was distributed to 28 local nonprofits this year! What an amazing impact right here in our community ❤️

💙 Partnerships make a difference! 💙

We are incredibly grateful for our partnership with Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SIHP) and the incredible work they do in our community!

Recently, SIHP helped us provide two of our youth, one in Washington and one in Idaho, with something so many of us take for granted: a safe, comfortable place to sleep. 🛏️✨

For each young person, SIHP provided a brand-new mattress, bed frame, pillow, bedding, and even set everything up for them. What an incredible gift!

As young adults transition out of foster care, having the basic comforts of home can make such a meaningful difference. We are so thankful to SIHP for coming alongside Safety Net Inland NW and helping us make sure our youth know that they matter, they are supported, and they don't have to navigate this journey alone ❤️

🍦❤️ Young hearts making a BIG difference!

A huge thank you to the Unity Church Youth Group for hosting an ice cream social and raising $404 for Safety Net Inland NW! 🥰🙌

Even more meaningful, the youth group voted to donate their earnings to Safety Net to support local youth who are aging out of foster care. What an incredible example of generosity, compassion, and community!

Thank you to each of the youth group members for your hard work, for giving your time, and for choosing to make a difference in the lives of other young people in our community. Your generosity means so much to us and to the youth we serve! 🫶❤️

Our warehouse is currently running very low on gently used couches and small dining tables, and we have youth who need these items to help make their new spaces feel like home ❤️

When a young person transitions out of foster care, having a comfortable place to sit, eat, and gather can make such a meaningful difference. These may seem like simple household items, but they help create a sense of stability, comfort, and home 🫶

If you have a clean, gently used couch or small dining table that you no longer need, we would be incredibly grateful for your donation!

🥹❤️ Spokane showed up in a BIG way for Safety Net!

We are incredibly grateful to Grocery Outlet (North Division) and our amazing community for making their Independence from Hunger Campaign such a success!

Because of your generosity throughout the month of July, Grocery Outlet presented Safety Net with an incredible $9,730 donation to help support foster youth as they navigate the critical transition out of foster care 🫶

We are especially grateful to the local businesses who stepped up during the campaign with donations and matching gifts that helped make this incredible total possible:

❤️ Fresh & Foraged: $250

And there's even more impact behind this campaign! All of the bags purchased throughout July were donated to the Mead Food Bank, helping support local families in need.

Part-Time Program Support Assistant (Nonprofit)

Safety Net Inland NW is growing, and we're looking for someone who is reliable, organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable with technology to join our team!

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants meaningful work while helping support youth aging out of foster care. Nonprofit or foster care experience is a plus, but it is not required. A willingness to learn and a passion for helping others are important to us. 💙

📌 20 hours per week
💰 $18/hour
💻 Hybrid: Remote + In-Person
📋 Independent Contractor (1099)

What you'll help with:
• Managing our Gmail inbox and day-to-day communication
• Supporting youth requests and maintaining Airtable records
• Following up with advocates and helping coordinate warehouse visits
• Coordinating donations and communicating with volunteers and community partners
• Creating and scheduling Facebook and Instagram content
• Helping keep our digital files, systems, and administrative processes organized

We're looking for someone who is:
✨ Organized and detail-oriented
✨ Dependable and trustworthy
✨ A strong communicator
✨ Comfortable with Gmail and Google Workspace
✨ Experienced with Facebook and Instagram
✨ Self-motivated and able to work independently
✨ Comfortable learning new technology and systems
✨ Compassionate and professional when working with youth, advocates, donors, and community partners

Nonprofit, Airtable, CRM, or administrative experience is a plus, but not required.
