Its First Friday! The perfect day to head downtown to explore and celebrate art and local artists. We met up with Stacie Boyer and Jennifer Batey Gilbert as they finished their mural

For more than a decade, murals have helped transform downtown Spokane’s walls, alleys and public spaces into places of creativity, connection and storytelling. What began as a collection of individual public-art projects has grown into a more intentional effort to use art as a tool for placemaking, cultural expression and downtown revitalization.

After exploring the Downtown Spokane Mural Art Tour, head on over to 314 W Riverside for Terrain 17 from 5pm - 12am, The region’s largest multimedia art and music event. From painting to poetry, performance art, dance and film and a full musical line-up, and its all FREE!

Downtown Spokane Mural Artwalk artists include:

B00! 👻 Let us introduce you to the spookier side of Spokane. These frightful delights can be visited any time of year in the Lilac City. Are you brave enough to encounter Spokane’s ghosts?

Happy Halloween, Spook-ane! 🎃

🪦Greenwood Memorial Terrace: This 1888 cemetery, inspired by Victorian-era European cemeteries, is home to a beautiful space full of natural walking paths, a waterfall, spring-fed fountains, and some of Spokane’s most notable residents who never quite left. Be sure to look for the staircase the locals call the “1,000 Steps.”

🌮The Bad Seed: We recommend this spot for Tex-Mex eats and a side of ghostly charm in Hillyard’s haunted historic library.  Be on the lookout for the room with a lone chair, said to host a lone ghost.

🏥 St. Ignatius Hospital: Built in 1893 by Catholic nuns, the hospital remained open through the 1960s before sitting vacant until 2003. You can even book a private tour to conduct your own paranormal investigation
