Sit with that for a minute.
A soldier puts on the uniform knowing that when the order comes, there may be no place to hide.
No excuses.
No passing the responsibility to someone else.
No sending somebody else through the door while you stand safely behind them.
The soldier goes.
But what happens when the person giving the orders has never had to carry the burden of those orders himself?

Now think about the contrast.
When it was his turn to face the possibility of military service, **he didn't go.**
Today, as President, he has the authority to make decisions that place other people's sons and daughters in harm's way.
And that's where the question gets uncomfortable.
How easy is it to demand courage from somebody else when you have never had to demonstrate that same courage yourself?
It's easy to throw the stone when you're standing behind someone else.
It's easy to talk tough when someone else is holding the rifle.
It's easy to demand sacrifice when the sacrifice belongs to somebody else's family.
And when the conflict becomes too difficult, too dangerous, or too complicated to handle alone, what happens?
Do you stand your ground?
Or do you look for someone else to stand in front of you?
Because there is a profound difference between **being willing to fight** and being willing to send somebody else to fight for you.
A soldier doesn't get to hide behind political power.
A soldier doesn't get to hide behind wealth.
A soldier doesn't get to hide behind advisers.
A soldier doesn't get to call somebody else when the bullets start flying and say, “You handle this for me.”
The soldier has to stand there.
And that soldier may be somebody's child.
Somebody's husband.
Somebody's wife.
Somebody's father.
Somebody's mother.
So here's the question I want people to think about:
If you were unwilling—or unable—to face the possibility of military service when your country called, what gives you the moral authority to demand that another person's child face death when you make the decision to go to war?
This isn't about whether someone supports Trump.
It isn't about whether someone supports Israel.
It isn't even about whether someone supports war.
It's about something much deeper:
The burden of leadership.
If you're going to send people into danger, you should at least understand what you're asking them to sacrifice.
Because a politician can leave the podium.
A politician can leave the battlefield.
A politician can leave the country.
A politician can send someone else to negotiate.
But the soldier?
The soldier has to stand there.
And if that soldier doesn't come home, the politician gets another headline.
The family gets an empty chair.
The mother gets a folded flag.
The child gets a photograph.
And the soldier?
**The soldier dies but once.**
The people who loved that soldier may spend the rest of their lives dying a thousand deaths.
So before you celebrate someone else's willingness to send Americans to war, ask yourself:
Would you still support that decision if it were your child being sent?
And then ask the question that matters most:
Who is actually willing to sacrifice—and who is willing to sacrifice somebody else?
Think about it.
WHO PAYS THE PRICE?
Ask yourself a simple question:
When political leaders decide to send American forces into another war, whose children are expected to pay the ultimate price?
President Trump chose to enter the conflict with Iran alongside Israel, and American service members have been placed in harm’s way. The conflict has already cost American lives and continues to expose U.S. troops to danger while Israel continue to create conflicts playing the professional victim mentality to the world to get their wants.
Meanwhile, the sons and daughters of ordinary American families are the ones who volunteer, deploy, fight, and potentially come home wounded—or not come home at all.
That raises a legitimate question:
Would the people making these decisions be willing to see their own children stand in those same ranks and face the same risks?
This is not about whether someone supports Israel or opposes Iran. It is about American children, American families, and the cost of war.
Before we send another generation of young Americans into harm’s way, we should demand clear answers:
What is the American objective?
What is the exit strategy?
What is the cost?
And why should an American family be asked to sacrifice its child for a war whose consequences will be borne by generations?
Our military members are not political talking points.
They are somebody’s son.
Somebody’s daughter.
Somebody’s husband or wife.
Somebody’s mother or father.
If leaders are willing to send America's children to war, Americans have every right to ask whether the leaders making those decisions—and their families—are willing to bear the same burden.
