Amor Real Ministries was founded in 2016 to champion the cause of Pat's Place, a shelter for abused women and their children in Lima, Peru.
Atlanta, August 23, 2016 -- Amor Real Ministries is pleased to announce that they will become the new owners of Pat's Place, a home for abused women and their children in Lima, Peru. Ownership will transfer to the ministry's directors, Alex and Holly Compton, over the course of 2016-2017. Pat's Place opened in 2006 through New Covenant Ministries of Norcross, Georgia. It was named for Patricia Wautlet, a compassionate and powerful speaker who ministered to many Peruvian women who found themselves in physically abusive relationships. "Pat" passed away shortly before the home was opened. The home now houses multiple families, including six women and their twelve children. The women at Pat's Place come to a safe haven in which they find healing and hope for a new life. They receive counseling and instruction to learn a new trade that can support their families. Women participate in a recovery program that typically lasts two years. Amor Real Ministries was founded in 2016 by Alex and Holly Compton of Cu***ng, Georgia, for the sole purpose of ministry in Peru, where they actually lived as missionaries from 2007 to 2008. The couple has ministered there since 2004 when they took their first mission trip under the leadership of Pat Wautlet. Their ministry will now be responsible for raising $60,000 annually to maintain Pat's Place. Alex and Holly are residents of Cu***ng where they have three children and attend The Vine Community Church on Bethelview Road. This and other churches bring short-term mission teams annually to minister to the families at Pat's Place and to serve in other capacities in and around Lima. "We went to Peru for the first time when we were engaged," says Holly, "so it has always been a part of our relationship." The couple now married more than 11 years is excited about this new adventure. "We believe God had called us to be Champions of this home and of these women and children. At Pat's Place they deserve to know what true love and freedom is all about."

Do you sometimes feel like God is just putting up with you? I do too, but this verse reminds me that God's not like that at all. Through this verse, God is basically telling His people that He is victorious over all, and with that victory, He is taking delight in us, calming our fears, and rejoicing over us! He is singing to US! We love Him so much that we sing praises to Him, but God loves us that much and more too! My heart is at peace in the joy He and I have together.

It's one thing to know God called and prepared you to write a book. It's something entirely different to have others recognize the quality and impact of that book. As you know, ππ©π°π°π΄πͺπ―π¨ ππ³πΆπ¦ ππͺπ§π¦ is a Finalist for the Kingdom Book Award in the category of Truth & Transformation (winners TBD Nov-26). Now it's already been named the Christlit Book Award 2026 Winner in the category of Understanding the Faith. I'm so honored and humbled in God's grace and timing.
I've talked a lot over these 40 posts about trusting in Jesus, but I had to say this one thing about trusting in ourselves. Our thoughts, our memories, our opinions, our daydreams, and even our own questions can so easily lead us down distressful and dirty corridors of our minds, deeper and deeper into despair till we can't find our way out. The only Light available is in the Word of God. That's the only home for Truth. Make it the home of your heart.

I truly believe it takes as much courage for us to believe that Jesus will heal our bodies as it takes to praise Him even if He doesn't. Read that again.
Which side is harder for you?
Do you trust God will heal your body completely?
Do you trust Him even if He doesn't and keep praising His name?
In either case, our "personal trust" and "confident faith"--in HIM--will face this question throughout our earthly lives. How do we respond?
