So we redesigned it. The bodice was opened and the neckline re-draped entirely by hand, fitted on her, asymmetric, in the gown’s own fabric — so nothing about it reads as an alteration.

Before choosing her bustle, we walked her through every option: French, American, ballroom. We looked at how each one would fall on satin and how each would hold up across the lawn and into the reception. She chose with confidence, not guesswork.

Forty minutes each way. Every single fitting.

There were tailors closer to her. There was even one her bridal boutique had recommended by name, the safe choice, the one already vetted for her.

She didn’t take it.

Why do we pick fabric in person?✨

Because the lace on your gown was woven years ago, and most of it isn’t being made anymore.
Ivory isn’t one color. Neither is champagne. Two laces can look identical on a screen and read completely different once they’re side by side under real light.

So when a gown needs sleeves added, a train lengthened, a neckline covered, or a torn panel rebuilt — we don’t order and hope. We go, we compare, and we bring back the one that disappears into the dress.

That’s the part no one sees on the wedding day. It’s also the part that decides whether the work looks added or looks original.

No one is going to look at the seams on this dress.
They’ll look at her face. At the train against the grass. At the light coming down those stairs.

That’s how it should be.
