It's on!!!!

Alright, alright, alright, got some wicked good news! Hardware has come in for the brewstand. A retired keg has been resurrected into a keggle that will become the new mash/lauter tun. A new false bottom, dip tube, and a three piece stainless steel ball valve was ordered to finish the transformation of the tun. Looking forward to getting this build done, running a water batch to get the pump plumbed, working out the kinks and get back to brewing!

Just want to thank Kevin Colby for coming over and brewing with me on Black Friday. A very successful brewday, though he did have to wake me up. 10 gallons of the Texas Sweat and 10 gallons of an APA to be named later (9.5 ounces of hops in that bad boy). Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to a dear friend that day, our mash/lauter tun has gone kaput. We are going to have to retire her. She gave us a good 5-6 years of service. On now to a new tun and sourcing all the innards to make one out of a keg. This was going to be our natural progression in the near future, we just now have to do it before our next brewday. Which means we can use the pump for re-circulation and moving between pots.

All in all, the beers are fermenting nicely and I am definitely looking forward to the brew session.

Black Friday brew day at TBD Brewing! 27 November. Will be starting at 0700, but swing by throughout the day. Brewing 2 10 gallon batches.

Beer appreciation will be black beers. Stouts, porters, black lagers, and the like. Bring some to share and discuss.

So this happened. 12 gallons of our Dark Vienna lager on Mexican lager yeast. We like to call it The Dirty Sanchez. Yeasties doing the job!
