Kailee Mills Foundation
Kailee Mills Foundation strives to save and impact lives around the globe in memory of Kailee Mills. https://linktr.ee/kaileemillsfoundation
At only 16, on October 28, 2017, Kailee Mills' life was cut short in mere seconds. She was killed in a horrific one-car accident just a few blocks from home. The driver lost control of the vehicle as they entered a curve, hit a culvert, and rolled several times. There were four 16-year-olds in the car, and Kailee was the only one not wearing her seat belt. Everyone else in the car walked away with minor cuts and bruises, except Kailee, who was ejected from the rear window and died instantly. Countless lives were shattered in the blink of an eye. Even in the darkest hour, Kailee's parents made the decision to spread awareness about seat belt safety. From heartbroken parents, to you reading this now, here is their message:
1) Talk to your children and keep talking to them about the importance of wearing a seat belt...no matter how far you are going.
2) Parents, the responsibility behind the wheel is on us, too. How often do we, as adults, get in a hurry to get here or there? It takes three seconds to fasten your seat belt. Those three seconds can change your life and the lives of those who know and love you.
3) Drive responsibly. It’s not worth your life or your passenger’s life.
4) And specifically, if you have children, you are setting the driving example every time you get in the car, so buckle up. Our faith in God has never been stronger, and we trust in His plan - a plan that was decided on long before Kailee was ever born. We have filled our hearts with forgiveness, love and compassion for the driver and his family, who was a close friend. We saw a text message in Kailee's phone where she said that she was a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, and we think one of those reasons is that her life was meant for something greater than what she could do from here. Please help us celebrate her life. Join the movement and please consider donating to our seat belt awareness campaign in Kailee Mills' honor. All funds will go towards our four programs: Seat Belt Safety Awareness, Family Assistance, College Scholarships, and First Responder Support.

A big thank you to the National Charity League, Inc., Cypress Creek Chapter for helping us carry Kailee’s message into more schools! 💚
This wonderful group of volunteers has been hard at work assembling packets that help our team share important seat belt safety education with students in our community.
Every packet prepared helps us reach another classroom, start another conversation, and remind more young people why buckling up matters. We are so grateful for the time and care these volunteers continue to give to our mission.
Together, we’re helping build safer habits, one student at a time.

Every passenger matters. Every seat matters. 💚
Whether you’re driving or riding along, make seat belt safety part of every trip. Buckle up before the vehicle moves, and make sure everyone in the car is buckled, too.
Looking out for one another can start with a simple reminder: Are you buckled?
Buckle up. Every seat. Every ride.

🏈 Friday Night Lights are about more than what happens on the field. 💚
Our dedicated board member, Dustin Creager, recently joined students in the Klein Collins High School athletics program to talk about an important part of being a teammate, a leader, and a member of the community: making safe choices behind the wheel.
The message reached athletes, cheerleaders, and football players, reminding students that looking out for one another extends far beyond game day.
Because every ride matters. Every passenger matters. And making the choice to buckle up is one way we can protect the people counting on us.
Buckle up. Every seat. Every ride.

This week, the Kailee Mills Foundation is proud to sponsor Keep Kids Alive Drive 25®’s 19th Annual Live Forward! Run to Remember in Colorado Springs, September 17–20.
The event brings families from across the country together to honor loved ones lost in traffic-related incidents. During the weekend, runners carry the names of those loved ones as they take on Pikes Peak, creating a powerful opportunity for remembrance, connection, and support.
Kailee’s story is part of this community of loved ones remembered. We are honored to see her name and her story carried forward alongside so many others, reminding us why the work to create safer roads matters.
We are grateful to Keep Kids Alive Drive 25® for including Kailee’s photo as part of this meaningful event. Having her memory represented among those being honored is a beautiful reminder that her story continues to reach people and inspire safer choices. 💚
Buckle up. Every seat. Every ride.

🚦 Safer roads start with education. 💚
Teachers play an important role in shaping the next generation of drivers. Through MTSI traffic safety training, educators gain valuable tools and resources to bring important conversations about safe driving and seat belt use into the classroom.
When we equip teachers with the knowledge to teach safe choices, we help students carry those lessons beyond the classroom and onto the road.
Buckle up. Every seat. Every ride.

KMF ribbon spotted at our nation’s Capitol! 💚
Kailee’s story began with one family’s loss, but her message has traveled far beyond one community.
Every KMF ribbon we see is a reminder that Kailee’s story continues to reach people across the country, encouraging safer choices and reminding drivers and passengers that every seat matters.
So, where have you spotted a KMF ribbon?
📸 Share your photos with us and show us where Kailee’s message is making an impact. We’d love to see just how far her message has traveled!
Buckle up. Every seat. Every ride.

Today, we pause to remember September 11, 2001.
We honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the first responders and everyday heroes who stepped forward, the families forever changed, and the communities that came together in the days that followed.
Twenty-five years later, we remember not only the lives we lost, but the courage, compassion, and service that followed. May we continue to honor their memory by caring for one another and choosing to make a difference in our communities. 💚
We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

We have a winner! 🏆
We received so many incredible submissions for our Buckle Up Squad Volunteer T-Shirt Design Contest, but Michelle Kroemer’s thoughtful design truly stood out!
Michelle’s design honors artwork from years past with a fresh vision—featuring the Texas outline and placing the Buckle Up Squad ribbon near where Kailee lived, connecting the design directly to the heart of our mission.
Congratulations, Michelle Kroemer, and thank you to everyone who shared their creativity with us! 💚 We can’t wait to see our volunteers wearing this design!
