Every inch of this kitchen was fought for. Peters Cabinetry built storage into spaces most kitchens waste β€” the awkward corner, the space above the fridge, the sliver next to the range.

"A place for everything" isn't a design clichΓ© here. It's the actual brief. Nothing sits out because everything has somewhere to go.

This downtown loft had good bones. Real structure, real light, a layout worth keeping β€” but a kitchen that didn't work for how anyone actually lived in it.

We didn't start over. We started dramatic. Peters Cabinetry built the kitchen that anchors the whole space now β€” every inch accounted for, nothing wasted. A place for everything, and everything exactly where it should be.

Good bones don't need a teardown. Sometimes they just need someone willing to be bold with what's already there.

Every client has a room that matters most. For this one, it's what they call the DARP β€” den, art, reading, and plants.

It's the heart of the house: a reading bench, shelving built for books, and a corner that wraps in glass so the whole room opens onto the Cincinnati skyline. On a hillside lot, that view is the reward for solving everything else.

Still in design β€” can't wait to show you this one finished.

Some of our clients could build anywhere. These two chose to stay.

They're young, first-time homeowners, and they love Cincinnati enough to solve a genuinely hard site instead of leaving the city for an easier one. The lot is narrow and steep β€” hillside district regulations, two parcels we're consolidating into one buildable site. Five stories, a rooftop deck, and a home designed to work with the slope instead of fighting it.

Still in design. More to come.

How to Deal with Uncertainty

07/21/2026

Cindy started a journal in 2011. Clippings, ideas, exactly what she wanted her house to feel like β€” years before we ever sat down together.

By the time we met, she knew her furniture measurements, her room layouts, her non-negotiables. We revised the design once. Once.

She didn't disappear once construction started, either. She was on site nearly every day β€” not checking up on anyone, just present, catching the small things before they became big things.

Everyone who tours this house tells her the same thing: it fits like a glove. That's not luck. That's a client who did the work.

When we started this campaign thirteen weeks ago, these three homes were earlier in construction than they are now.

The Opus is taking shape on its 25 acres. Rutherford Retreat is close. The Legacy Playhouse is ahead of schedule.

We're going to keep sharing them as they come to life β€” the finishes, the reveals, the moments when a client walks into a finished space for the first time.

The best chapters are still ahead. Follow along.

Overcoming Uncertainty with Flexibility and Teamwork

Fifteen years ago, Tom hired Springhouse to design his home.

Last year, he came back for his Opus.

That kind of trust isn't something you manufacture. It's something you earn β€” slowly, project by project, decision by decision.

If you're looking for a firm you can trust with the most significant project of your life, we'd like to earn that too.

If you know someone who's thinking about building β€” a custom home, a major renovation, something significant β€” do them a favor and share this with them.

The biggest mistake people make is starting the process without the right team. The second biggest is waiting too long to have the first conversation.

We're taking on one or two new projects this year. If you know who should be in that conversation, tag them below or send this their way.
