Good afternoon, families!
Please note that North Branch Parkway is currently closed between Sunrise Terrace and North Brook Road due to a partial roadway collapse caused by this morning’s heavy rain.
If you normally use this route for drop-off or pick-up, please plan to take an alternate route until further notice.
Thank you for your understanding and safe travels!

Some dreams begin by simply watching someone you love.
Today, Amalia asked if she could lead our circle time… and she did it with so much confidence, energy, and joy. ❤️
Watching her guide the children reminded me that little eyes are always watching. They learn not only from what we teach, but from how we care for others every day.
Moments like this remind me why I love family child care. 🤍
The sweetest little assistant teacher. 🍎✨
Feelings are just as important as letters and numbers. 💙
During yesterday’s circle time, we explored emotions through play. Each child took a turn rolling the Feelings Cube, naming the emotion, and helping their little fish with a comforting strategy like a gentle hug.
These simple moments help build emotional awareness, empathy, language, and confidence, one turn at a time. 🐠✨
At our family daycare, rhythm activities are more than music time. Children are strengthening listening skills, counting, coordination, self-regulation, and learning to follow multi-step directions, all while having fun. 🥁💛
My favorite moment? When I say “Resting!” and every little set of rhythm sticks quietly finds its place on the floor. It’s a small moment that reflects consistency, trust, and the power of daily routines. ✨
Before our little learners begin exploring, every area is thoughtfully prepared with a purpose.
Yesterday, we started our morning together with our welcome song during circle time while learning invitations were already waiting around the classroom.
🐟 A fish game helped children practice number recognition (1–10), colors, movement, and imaginative play.
🎨 Our art table was ready to spark creativity and fine motor skills.
In a family daycare, every detail is intentionally planned to create meaningful, play-based learning experiences from the moment children arrive. 🤎
✨ Yesterday, before the children even arrived… the learning had already begun.
At our family daycare, every space is intentionally prepared to spark curiosity, imagination, and meaningful learning.
For our Let’s Go Camping – Happy Trails adventure, our tent became the perfect spot for circle time, while our outdoor campfire area invited the children to gather, connect, and enjoy snack together, just like a real camping experience. ⛺🌲
Because in our family daycare, the environment isn’t just where children play… it’s where learning comes to life. 🤎

Los grandes aprendizajes suelen comenzar con las cosas más sencillas. 🌿🤎
Every dot, every color, and every little “B” was helping build early literacy skills.
Yesterday, we explored the letter B by painting, decorating, and listening for the /b/ sound. As the children created, we practiced words like bear, blue, and backpack, strengthening letter recognition, beginning sounds, fine motor skills, and language, all through play.
The best learning doesn’t happen with worksheets.
It happens when little hands are busy, curious, and having fun. 💙
🌫️ Why couldn’t we see the sun yesterday? ☀️
My preschoolers were asking the same question, so we turned it into a simple science experiment. Using a clear container, baking flour, and a flashlight, we explored how tiny particles in the air can make the sky look gray, even when the sun is still shining.
Yesterday, smoke from the Canadian wildfires affected our skies here in Springfield, creating a great opportunity to learn about the world around us in a way little children could understand.
Sometimes the best lessons come from real-life moments. 🌎✨
Have your little ones noticed the sky looking different lately?
