Now-former employees of Greenlight dispensary in Springfield have been protesting their firings this weekend.
Protestors believe they were fired as retaliation for discussing unionization. They claim the company told them it was because they were using ma*****na either on property — or before coming to work. The company said it has no comment.

22-year-old Codey Martinez died last night after being shot. A suspect was arrested in Ozark County and there is no threat to the public.
This is Springfield’s 9th homicide investigation in 2026.
——— INCIDENT DETAILS ———
On Sept. 20, 2026, at 2:20 a.m., Springfield police officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 200 block of East Montclair.
Officers found 22-year-old Codey Martinez, from Springfield, who had been shot. Martinez died at the scene and his family was notified.
Investigators with the Springfield Police Department identified a suspect who was later arrested by Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop G, in Ozark County, Missouri.
Detectives continue to investigate and ask anyone with information about this incident to contact the Springfield Police Department at 417-864-1810 or send an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at 417-869-TIPS (8477) or online at p3tips.com.
