In Loving Memory of Stanley J. Eberly

Stanley J. Eberly, born September 9, 1940, in Steubenville, Ohio, lived a life defined by faith, service, and unwavering devotion to his family. A faithful servant of Christ and a devoted member of Crosspoint Church for over 40 years, he leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and kindness.

Stanley proudly served his country as a United States Marine during the Vietnam War and dedicated many years to supporting and serving others through the Springfield Police Academy. Wherever he served, he did so with integrity, humility, and compassion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jay and Celeste Eberly and brothers James Cantrell, and Jim Brooks. He is lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of 64 years, Joyce Eberly; his daughter, Heather Eberly; his grandson and adoptive son, Devon Jenkins, and Devon's wife, Ashlee; his cherished great-grandchildren, Zoey and Kenne Maxwell; his sisters, Darlene Cantrell, Judy Brooks, Carmen Perryman and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Though his earthly journey has ended, the faith he lived, the lives he touched, and the love he gave will continue to shine through all who knew him.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 from 2:00-4:00 PM at the Jackson Lytle and Lewis Life Celebration Center, Springfield. Pennington, Jr., Elmer “Junior”, 93 of Springfield, passed away Monday, May 18, 2026 at his home. He was born March 9, 1933 in Springfield, Ohio the son of Elmer and Luna (Scaggs) Pennington, Sr. Junior retired from 7Up after 35 years of service. He was a member of Crosspoint Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Survivors include two sons and spouses, Tony (Brenda) Pennington and Steve (Melodye) Pennington; two daughters and spouses, Karen (Jack) McKee and Angela (Dale) Griest; two siblings, Glenn (Phyllis) Pennington and Joyce Shirk; grandchildren, Kimberly (Jim) Jenkins, Jennifer Schliep, Jack (Heather) McKee, Brooke (Ryan) Harris, Dejah Fagan, Tavia Pennington, Jordan Pennington, Amanda Griest, Hannah Griest and Nathan Griest; 19 great grandchildren; one great great grandson and special friend, Nancy Ross. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; son, Richard Gorton; daughter-in-law, Linda Gorton; siblings, Paul, Wilma, Jim, Lois and Betty; grandson, Richard Gorton and great grandson, Cody Schliep. His funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday in CONROY FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Richard Blevins officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Mausoleum.

Clifford "Cliff" Hill Obituary:

Clifford “Cliff” Eugene Hill, 73, of Fairborn, formerly of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Soin Medical Center. He was born on July 29, 1952 in Springfield, Ohio to the late Donald Eugene and Dorothy (Payne) Hill.

Cliff had worked at Fulmer’s Supermarket in Springfield for over 30 years, until their closing. He then retired from Assurant Solutions. He loved going to church. He was a member of Crosspoint Church in Springfield for over 40 years and then enjoyed attending Redemption Christian Tabernacle in Tipp City after moving. In his free time, he enjoyed playing the guitar.

Cliff will be remembered most for the love he had for his family. He found his greatest joy in being a dad and Pappy. He loved spending time with his grandchildren—playing with them, making them laugh, and watching them grow. He had a playful spirit and was always up for a little roughhousing, creating memories that will be cherished forever. He was also incredibly proud of his children and treasured life’s special moments shared with them.

Survivors include his loving wife, Debbie (Gearhart) Hill; three children, Christopher Eugene (Kimberly) Hill, Jason Gearhart (Heather) Hill, and Amber (Scott) Mattimore; grandchildren, Zeke, Jace, Zaden, Savannah, and Abigail; sisters, Alta Kinnamon and Dawn Casdorph; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 12-1 pm Friday in the Crosspoint Church, 3333 E. National Rd., Springfield. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Richard Blevins officiating. Burial will follow in Terre Haute Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones-Kenney-Zechman Funeral Home. Condolences may be shared online at www.jkzfh.com.
