BASE is a transition program through Springfield Public Schools for students 16+. We focus on job skills, academics, and community experiences.
At Fairbanks, students gain hands-on learning through our Coffeeshop, Custodial Department, and Bike Shop.

If there’s one thing you can count on, it’s BASE students showing up to help! Thank you to the Nick Hostler Foundation for inviting our students to help with the pickleball tournament.
We are incredibly grateful for the support of our Community Integration Grant through funds for the past two years.
This grant has given our students so many opportunities to learn and grow beyond the classroom, and it was wonderful to have the chance to give back a little and show our appreciation!
It was only a 4 day week, but we packed a lot into it! We didn’t let the heat keep us still! We fit in some indoor PE, a cooking lesson, and plenty of work! So many laughs, smiles, and great moments with this great group of young people!

A huge thank you to Foundation for Springfield Public Schools for giving us the opportunity to learn BEYOND the classroom! We are so excited for all the experiences, adventures, and learning opportunities ahead!
Work hard, play hard!
We may have only been back in school for a couple of weeks, but we’ve already been busy! From learning new job skills and working in our community to making memories and having fun together, our BASE students are off to a great start!

We are so excited to volunteer at the Nick Hostler Foundation’s Pickleball Tournament! Last year, this foundation helped sponsor our Community Outings Grant, giving our students so many wonderful opportunities. We love being able to give back and support this amazing organization! 💙
