It's been a minute. Let me introduce/reintroduce myself. My name is Effie, and I am the founder, creator, and designer behind .effie.fit | custom design studio.

I am your ally to the stage, specializing in custom-tailored competition stagewear for athletes across all bodybuilding federations.

This work began out of personal goals, passion, and necessity, and has transformed into something I consider a true blessing. From the beginning, I realized I bring a special gift and voice to this work. I pour the same devotion and intensity into each creation that my athletes bring to their pursuit of bodybuilding. What I create here is more than a suit - it's wearable art.

I'm here to collaborate. To listen. To create. To see the athlete in front of me - not just their physique - and translate their vision and personality into a suit uniquely theirs. I strive to empower them to step into the confidence they've built throughout their journey to the stage, to elevate their stage presence and presentation.

To every athlete who has entrusted me with a piece of their journey, my family and friends who encourage and support this work, and every other person who has shared it, celebrated it, or stopped by to see what we're creating here - thank you.

As a fellow athlete and a one-woman design studio living with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, I've intentionally built this work around what matters most to me: my health, my family, and the quality in what I create. This also means social media takes a backseat to the work happening behind the scenes. Some suits and trunks may never make it here. Others are shared when the opportunity allows. I never reveal a client's creation before they compete. I honor my clients' experience, their anticipation, their transformation, and ultimately, their time on stage belongs to them first.

So if you don't see everything I'm creating, know that there is almost always more happening behind the scenes than what makes it to this little social window. And, that's exactly how I like it.

☀️ Take that vacation.

It had been 10 years since Dirk—my best friend and love of my life—and I carved out space for a restorative escape: just us in Los Cabos for 8 days. In the 21 years we’ve shared, life has held breathtaking beauty alongside undeniable weight. We planned exactly one thing—a sunset sail out of Cabo San Lucas—and let the rest unfold. Slow mornings. Open afternoons. This trip met us exactly where we needed it—offering nourishment and rest for body and soul—sunshine, respite, adventure, and incredible meals, all served at the perfect pace.

Just before we left, we learned humpback whale mating season was underway in the Sea of Cortez. With glee, we booked 2 low-key outings with Salty Cabo out of San José del Cabo, intentionally avoiding the tourism of Cabo San Lucas. What began as curiosity turned into a childhood bucket-list moment I didn’t realize I was still carrying.

Seeing the humpback whales up close—graceful, powerful, playful, and cautious—brought a deep calm to my soul. From our room, the pool, la playa, and out on the water, they became the most humbling entertainment imaginable. I accepted I couldn’t catch every epic display and delighted in the moments I was given. They brought peace, perspective, and a reminder of how small—and connected—we are. Dirk says I may have missed my calling as a marine biologist.

I’ve had many callings in this life, and I’m deeply grateful to be living the one I’m in now.

Life still traveled with me—a head cold on the tail-end of the trip and a subluxed T1 vertebra on the flight home—but there were meaningful health wins. Foods I’ve restricted for years were savored, and I spent hours in direct sunlight without my usual severe UV reactions. I don’t take those gifts lightly.

This trip gave me space to pause, reflect, and set intentions for the year: prioritize family time, read for pleasure and growth, bring creativity back into the kitchen, plan future travel, and choose deeper, more present togetherness.

Being With Changes Everything—a truth echoed in my friend Josh Cordell’s recent book—and one I’m carrying home into this next season.

Rest restores.
Connection grounds.
Creating memories is life.

2025 Year in Review | Reels can be tricky to navigate. They move too fast — asking you to capture a moment before it passes. What I shared over New Year’s deserves a slower pace — opportunity to pause, read, reflect, and really take it in. So I’m resharing the same content, frame by frame, not to repeat it — but to honor it.

Of the 32 athletes who entrusted me with their custom suit or trunk designs (or suit modifications), 26 stepped on stage and placed in their respective divisions. The highlights that follow reflect only the 26 who received fully custom-tailored stagewear— each one a collaboration, a commitment, and a shared pursuit of excellence.

Everything below stands on its own.
