Health Sciences Academy at Mercy

We've been up to a lot at HSA...Convoy Garden and learning about food and nutrition and how good food affects our health.

Some group work.

Dietetics came in to show us, and let us try, items they use to help patients with feeding issues.

And we went to pack over 12,000 lbs of food for local seniors facing food insecurity with Ozark's Food Harvest.

At HSA this week, students in our Leadership unit worked on team building skills with hands-on creations,

Learned different note-taking strategies at stations,

Presented on our Culture of Teamwork: Trust, Communication, Focus, Effort/Initiative, Organization, and Leadership,

Wrote letters to the teacher introducing themselves,

And toured the hospital.

Infection Prevention came to speak to us today!

If any student wants to bring some extra $ we can venture down to buy some baked goods to support the Mercy NICU Reunion.

This is optional.

HSA Parents/Guardians,
Please review the newsletter every week.

We sent out sack lunch counts and got 26/50 replies.

We learned about safety and security at the hospital today!

You can't see, but the student in the front is demonstrating proper extinguisher technique while his teammate keeps him safe.

Team building challenge as we dive into our Teamwork and Leadership unit!

Today at HSA in History class students looked at 9 primary and secondary sources to decide "Whose History?"

Let's make the HSA Ladie's Restroom a little more welcoming!
