We walked through a renovation that's close to being wrapped up by our friends John Marion Custom Homes, LLC and we are so proud of how this home kept it's original character, while adding on new finishes that make it feel up to date. Being an interior designer holds some hefty responsibility- knowing design trends, understanding timeless rules, and staying current on best practices are all important pieces of doing great work for our clients. And we believe part of that responsibility is committing to being lifelong learners. There is always more to learn, another perspective to consider, and another way to grow in our craft.
So when we were invited to Loloiâs exclusive event, âLoloi Live,â it was a no-brainer.
What an amazing privilege to be among 100 top industry professionals, with incredible speakers and opportunities to brainstorm together, share ideas, and learn from some of the best in the industry. Weâre equipping ourselves with fresh inspiration, new ideas, and plenty to think about- and weâre excited to bring all of it back to the work we do for our clients.
đ Just kidding, Chelsee knows her place in your home build is not in heavy equipment (pretty hard to top the job the guys at LaFollette Excavating do anyway)
When most people picture an interior design firm, they picture beautiful flat lays, air conditioned showrooms filled with gorgeous samples, and, in general, a pretty glamorous job.
And sure, thereâs some of that!
But a lot of our weeks actually look like this- a blend of beauty and dust.
Weâre on job sites double checking details and catching things before they become problems. Weâre in meetings making sure our vision stays aligned with our clientsâ. Weâre behind our computers reviewing plans, answering questions and making sure every trade involved has the information they need.
But great design isnât just choosing beautiful things.
Itâs managing hundreds of details behind the scenes so that when it all comes together, it feels effortless to you.
