Ozarks AAZK is a local chapter of the American Association of Zoo Keepers AAZK allows this avenue through conservation efforts locally or nationally.
Ozarks AAZK is made up of animal professionals from Aquarium at the Boardwalk in Branson, MO, Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium, and Dickerson Park Zoo in Springfield, MO. All members have a passion for wildlife and AAZK gives members an avenue to help exotic and domestic animals around the world. AAZK also gives animal professionals an opportunity to learn the newest techniques in animal husbandry, training, and networking.

Join us at Holdfast Brewing for BIRDS AND BREW! Proceeds will help the American Bird Conservancy! We will have some ambassador birds AND have some really awesome raffle prizes! PLUS its always a good time at Holdfast! Come out and hang out with us!

AAZK will be at Brew at the Zoo at Dickerson Park Zoo this Saturday! Come see us and see some of the decorative cups our animals have painted. Unfortunately not ALL the paint ended up on the cups but......Picasso...we like it.

Happy Elephant Appreciation Day!
Did you know elephants can be right- or left-trunked and right- or left-tusked? Just like humans have a dominant hand, elephants tend to have a dominant way of using their trunks to scoop and a preferred tusk that they use more often. Dickerson Park Zoo is home to four Asian Elephants. Two cows Patience and Moola and two bulls Hugo and Indy. We are so proud to take part in the conservation of this amazing species!

Parker and Makena were our winners from Party with the Keepers for our Keeper for a Day!!! Thank you guys for joining us and seeing what we do everyday! This is what AAZK is all about! Educating our community and inspiring the younger generation to love conservation!

Not to be outdone by the Giraffe Squad, Hugo is proving that he is the superior soccer player.
Great job trying to teach soccer to the herd Mili. Gigi has potential but I think you two may have to carry the DPZ giraffe soccer squad.

Thanks for Partying with us keepers! Because of you Ozarks AAZK was able to raise almost $1700 for rhino conservation! A big thank you to everyone who donated, bought raffle tickets, and just came out and had a good time! Can't wait to see those of you who won tours again!
Also a huge shout-out to the people who donated baskets, artist who put in beautiful artwork, and to the keepers who stayed and put this event together!
