A career dedicated to caring for others doesn't end at retirement—it simply takes on a new form. 💙

Former oncology nurse Ann Garbecki and her husband, Brian, a former Baystate Health facilities director who helped plan and design the D'Amour Center for Cancer Care, recently made a meaningful gift through Baystate Health Foundation to support the purchase of essential patient monitoring devices for individuals receiving cancer treatment.

For Ann, oncology was more than a profession—it was a calling. Together, she and Brian wanted to honor the place and people who meant so much to them while helping ensure future patients receive the highest level of care, locally. 🏥

Thank you, Ann and Brian, for your generosity and for continuing to make a lasting difference for our patients and caregivers! 👏

Across ...

A pathologist read a result that changed what today would mean for someone — someone who may never know the doctor behind it.

A cardiology team knew what to do when a patient came in with chest pain. Experience made the call to open their artery, and the outcome wasn't left to chance. 🫀

A mom held her newborn for the first time and felt nothing but peace, behind her is a team who made sure of it.

An oncology nurse assisted an MRI scan with compassion — another patient, another care plan with the focus of a first. 🩺

This is what a day looks like across our health system. It's not what you see in headlines, but what happens behind every room, every decision, every appointment. It's the people who have spent their entire careers learning exactly what to do and showing up to do it, for you. 🖤

Doctor warns of fireworks dangers as July 4th approaches 06/25/2026

One spark can change a life... 🎇

As we celebrate America's 250th anniversary next weekend, encourages everyone to make safety part of the festivities.

As many know, fireworks can cause devastating injuries ranging from burns and facial trauma to vision-threatening eye injuries and amputations. Dr. Seth Gemme, Chair of Emergency Medicine, sees the impact of these injuries firsthand and offers simple advice: enjoy the show, but leave the fireworks to the professionals!

In Massachusetts, fireworks are illegal to possess or set off, and the risks simply aren't worth it. 🚫

This Fourth of July, celebrate by keeping yourself, your family, and your neighbors safe. Attend a public fireworks display, watch from a safe distance, and leave the pyrotechnics to the experts.

Let's celebrate the milestone, enjoy the memories, and put safety first! 🇺🇸

The road to recovery is never easy, but no one has to walk it alone... 👣

Trauma Survivors Day is a powerful reminder that recovery is about more than healing from an injury—it's about finding strength, building connections, and moving forward together. 💙

Recently, we partnered with the Trauma Survivors Network to celebrate the remarkable resilience of trauma survivors and recognize the families, friends, and care teams who support them every step of the way. The event also included recognition of our Trauma Nurses of the Year: Andrew Clark, Amy Frasier, Pamela Merlin, and Danielle King. These exceptional nurses were honored for their outstanding service and commitment to trauma patients across the Emergency Department, Operating Room, and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this meaningful event. We are honored to be part of so many inspiring journeys and to witness the courage and determination that define our survivor community.
