Baseball Series - 2026
Outside of the Louisville Slugger Factory and Museum in Louisville, KY. I absolutely loved that pennant. I was hoping to get one in the gift store, but alas the Slugger Museum doesn't sell pennants. lol. Hint, hint. ;)

The Trail of the Unknown Body at Howard Finster's Paradise Garden has a lot of lore surrounding it. In the corner lies a concrete sarcophagus created by Howard Finster to hold the remains of a body that was found beneath a local building. It is said to be of a young woman with a bullet hole in the skull that dates to being Civil War era.

Celebrating 100 years this year, the historic Hotel Jacaranda in Avon Park, Florida has been a hot spot of American icons such as Babe Ruth, Clark Gables, and even Al Capone. It was such a cool spot to check out and photograph.

Last week I had to make an unexpected trip to Florida to help with some family things, but I got to take my camera and catch some unexpected shots along the way. Here's a new edition to my Religious Sign Series, and this one I think is going to be one of my favorites because of the just the interesting combo of signs. This was a small restaurant off the road around Lakeland, Florida I think it was.

Summer Nights at the State Fair - 2026
This was up in Louisville, KY. My wife and I were there for Beaglefest and across the street from our motel was the Kentucky State Fair. So one evening I slipped on over to take some photos of the fair on film.

Gwinnett Stripers pitcher Cedric De Grandpre warming up before his start against the Louisville Bats. Before the game I took my film camera down to try to take a few photos of players warming up. Not many came very close to really get great closeups, but I did get a few really cool shots of De Grandpre in his warmup routine. It was so fun shooting some actual baseball on film.

The Palace Theatre in Louisville, KY had this awesome marquee out last weekend. I had to stop to photograph it. It's not very often someone passes away that has made the impact on the world at large like Dolly did. She's one of the few that people everywhere are stopping to pay their respects.

"Welcome to Louisville"
After we toured the Louisville Slugger Museum, we drove over to Louisville Slugger Field, home of the Louisville Bats baseball team. They are the Triple A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds. Before the game, I took my camera wandering around a little bit to shoot some film around the stadium for my baseball series.

This past weekend we were up in Louisville, KY for Beaglefest. My wife is a HUGE Peanuts (Charlie Brown/Snoopy) fan, so it's a large gathering for the fandom. On Saturday they took us to the Louisville Slugger museum and factory and we got to tour to hear the history and see how the bats are made. It was amazing. Of course I took my film camera to take some photos for my baseball series. There will be many more to come, but this was an area where bats were hanging for some finishing touches such as paint jobs and stuff like that. I loved the light and shadow play here.
